Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: January 21, 2012, 07:28:01 PM »
They have never implemented seconds onto a STAR's clock since the debut of the black LDL on the XL in September 2003. That is likely a feature TWC thought had no value to the viewer, and their reasonings were correct or else the seconds would have been implemented after a while.
They had the date on the IntelliSTAR's black LDL bar, though, but got rid of it when the blue bar made its debut in June 2008.
I only spoke about the seconds on a clock, not the date. ;)

The old playlists were perfectly fine. What difference does it make to have smooth jazz completely removed? :(
younger audience, more views, and $$

I was told they were moving toward a contemporary selection of music, and there is certainly a lot of smooth jazz that is contemporary..

also, you have to think.. TWC has never been all smooth jazz  with artists like Ryan Farish, who has been around since 2001, that's newage.. and Phish is rock

Also, back in the 1980s, a lot of instrumental rock was played too

Finally, for those who hate songs like Gut feeling, you have to think that Gut feeling (as an example) was actaully used back in 2005

General Weather Chat / Re: What's the weather in your area?
« on: January 20, 2012, 03:44:28 PM »

Ugh, it's chilly again <_< While I do like cold, what's pissing me off is when you have cold mornings and hot afternoons.. highs close to 80 today!

It was 43°F at around 1am. 12 hours later, it is 73°F! A 30-degree swing already!

It's never that wacky in the city or along the coast though! and I was right, it's about 79° now

OMG! :o One of three things is happening here: either there's missing data, over half of the weather stations in the US have been destroyed, or the US has been reduced to only some cities.

Hopefully, it's the first explanation. :P

I checked the METARs out of some cities they usually have on that map, and those reports are coming in just fine, so it's probably a problem on TWC's end.
TWC doesn't use METAR reports, but rather their own through HiRAD, so it wouldn't matter anyways if the METARs were the cause.

Honestly, TWC is going for views here, and it seems the ones who are hating the factor of this playlist cannot seem to comprehend that... :club: just my two cents based upon observation though, so dont take it personal

I wouldnt necessarily say the site would shut down, but we would have to be careful any non-original content that gets posted here.

I did to confirm after I posted :P I could have sworn a while back I heard someone from here said he was from Canada?

Anyways, this OCM has been with TWC since the 90s but is no longer employed full-time with them, though this person makes appearances on occasion.

Call me paranoid for doing this, but I plan to partake in tomorrow's SOPA blackout with my website. If you want to see a preview, see this http://zach.dyndns-work.com:53205/sopa/

To ensure my sig stays online here, I'm gonna copy that directory over to the /sopa/ directory since I plan going into my host settings and changing that to the default directory.
