I know, if you look at TWC's Facebook and Dave Clark's Twitter, it's no secret that people like it, so why not keep something people like? I just feel a disconnect from them.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.. But if I remember correctly, they used to have on-staff an employee whose job was to solely scout music for the monthly playlist. And while scouting for music, I'm sure venturing the cost of playing said music to the licensing outfit was a task in itself. I think the uphill battle here is dealing with a double edge sword.. Hiring someone who will sit on payroll and be responsible for finding music which will fit well with their brand, and also spending money on licensing that music for so many plays.
While we would like them to hire someone to do that job, it might not be in the payroll and feasible for costs for licensing said music. If it was me, I would be more concerned with on-air programming than the LF music. I'm talking strictly from a business perspective.
