i am confused.. why is this posted here??

just wanna put this out there.. the 3day extended forecast would announce "your extended forecast" when the product expires, but the data is still valid. the product expires sooner than the data, dont know why its like this, just is. when the 7-day doesn't announce "your extended forecast", the product expired, but the data is still valid. usually what would happen is shortly theirafter is the product would re-render showing the no-data available tag. this happens on the XL, its not frequent though, but does happen (mostly when the data just stays the same).

It's not bad, but I don't like how a seven day forecast is shown for all three cities. It's fine for the main city, but the other two should only show today's forecast or something. Also, why not not more Air Quality, travel cities, and airport conditions on the LDL?
yea i was wondering where all the other 'non-weather' stuff went..

ok, as far as the IS is concerned.. I would like the LDL much more if the time was shown, i find the time very important.
second, the XL does not load the LDL at all. I hope that the star team does something for the XL instead of showing a national list of cities. ofcourse, i would like alot of things to happen with the XL, but i am sure it has seen better days.

Local Forecast / Fair Skies vs. Sunny/Clear Skies
« on: March 10, 2010, 06:06:14 AM »
This one has me baffled, I was wondering if someone can clear this up for me..
What declares "Fair" skies. On my IS, the hourly obs says Clear skies (night), and on my XL, it says Fair skies, both for the same reporting station. Checking the report directly from the metar, the visibility is 10 miles, and ceiling is Unlimited, so it's Clear. Checking from the NWS' Regional Weather Roundup, same location Partly Cloudy, and the Point Forecast shows "Fair". I go outside and look up, and the sky is clear, but off to one side of my house, there are clouds around the horizon. Thanks to anyone who can clear this up for me.

Help and Support / Re: Error on Startup
« on: March 10, 2010, 05:42:58 AM »
two things could be happening here.. 1. the updated .exe wasnt replaced with the original .exe from the installer. 2. program cant write back to the directory.
what you may try is .. take the update archive from CINE, open it in like winrar, then drag-and-drop the updated files into c:\wsxl manually instead of using the self-extractor. make sure they are replacing the old versions. once completed, make sure the whole directory, and the subdirectories are allowed to be written by 'everyone'.

let me know what goes!

as i havnt tested the emulator on windows 7, i cant tell you exactly what is causing the problem. however, if its all the same as windows vista's problem, make sure that the files and directory are globally writable to 'everyone'.. then dont forget to place the updated program executable in that directory. run the set affiliate program as administrator to set your id. close the program. you may want to re-open it (as administrator) to see if you can 'recall' the id saved. then you should be able to run the emulator, again as administrator. any access violations tell me that the program cant write to its own directory.

I am looking forward to continuing support on the emulator once the warmer months hit so i have more time to work on it. installation issues are also on the table to be worked out as the installer i use was pre-vista's time.

try like that, let us know what works out!

The host was designed to manage the client. Much like TWC manages field weatherstar units. This allows for smooth future upgrades so everyone is on the same page.

Animated versions are the .swf .. #14 looks fun, although they don't seem to play by the 30 frames/1 second rule.
