Hey Guys,
I have been uploading some full-length archival videos from VHS->DVD conversions I have done from Lee Molineux' tapes. These are un-cut and include entire on-air, commercials, and local forecast segments. Comments are welcome

Local Forecast / Re: RIP ~ Real Music

Good Afternoon Miss Ricks,
I would be happy to petition what you are requesting, especially since you are experienced in this area. Working with TWC of today may be an up-hill battle that may not yield much. They appear to have an attitude with their current line up that delivers content to a 'general audience'. They believe what they are doing is working, however running long-form programming during prime time and rushing a 1 minute local forecast is pushing the audience away.
I believe you may make more of an impact if you connected with these folks who are doing a start up planned for Oct 2014 - http://www.networkweathercompany.com/
Best of luck!
Brian

Programming and Graphics / Re: New Graphics coming to TWC
« on: November 12, 2013, 10:43:04 PM »
Well said!
As hard as it may be to believe I'm about 99.9% sure TWC had a fair share of input in how they wanted their graphics to be presented so to make it seem like the group of graphic designers that worked on this for them just sat around on their butts and threw some crap together just for the money is a bit insulting. Why are you insulted? Are you planning on producing sub-par work when you get a job? My guess is no, so why be bothered by what I think?
Anyway, I was being sarcastic about the no time thing. Working in the marketing business myself, I have no doubt that TWC had lots of meetings about the new look. And I have no doubt that the company they hired spent a lot of time on the project. That's why I'm so unimpressed.
If you want to be a designer, that's awesome. I wish I was. I look at some of the things people have done and am amazed. I can see the passion in them. I see no passion in this look. I mean, all that time and money, and all you come up with are a bunch of colored boxes and an ugly font? I could have done that! Maybe I just don't "get it" because I'm a developer, but I think it's ridiculous when companies charge millions for ugly designs and/or websites that don't work.
One company I work with, for example, had another company "refresh" the design of two websites we created for them. When we got the design back and I applied it to the sites, I was amazed. I couldn't tell that they had done anything...until they told us. All they did was change the colors and fonts slightly. And I think they added a ribbon to the top of one of the sites. I don't know what they charged for their "services," but knowing the firm, I'm pretty sure it was a lot.
My point is this. If you have the balls to charge a client over a million dollars for something, what you deliver in the end better be f-ing amazing!!

Did something happen to this effort? The facebook page appears to be inaccessible and any links from Dave Schwartz page appear to be gone. Any thoughts?

Help and Support / Re: new zone numbers for montgomery county pa
« on: June 13, 2013, 11:20:18 PM »
Per the document provided by MikeM http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/fire/phi_zones.pdf .. I added these zones into the list for the emulator to select, however the NWS data source does not use these. I then removed them. I tested with 068 and was able to pull up data as it worked previously. What are you doing so I can replicate this trouble?

« on: March 11, 2013, 11:29:20 AM »Will we get traffic segment back yet?
Matthew,
Up to this point, I have not been able to find a free traffic source where I can bring this into the emulator. As of the last time I checked on this, back in November, I could not find anything. This does not necessarily mean that there isn't a traffic source available, I just was not able to find the kind which could be used. The last source I used (Yahoo traffic) was able to provide all incidents in a user-defined mile radius of a zip code. If something similar to this could be found, this may fit well with the emulator.

Latest Release Information / Re: Emulator Release - October 2012
« on: November 15, 2012, 03:24:24 PM »When will traffic be back?
Traffic will be back when I can find a source (such as RSS) that will provide those details, either by ZIP or by latitude/longitude.
would this help?
I was thinking about using traffic.com's traffic feed, however it's implementation would be complicated and configuration for the emulator user would be a bear in itself. I'll check it out again, but if there were any other feeds that provide details in the method noted above, it would work out great!
