to be honest, they should really fill in that 8pm-11pm, and 11pm-1am slots with live weather. at that point, most, if not all of the ocm's will get a steady time slot!

Help and Support / Re: File open error

Traffic isn't in my lineup. I had it in at first, but then removed it before I even built the config for the first time.

I checked on your config. It appears there was a problem with the main observation site. I set this to 'Philadelphia' for you. I also removed Airport too, as I am in the process of rebuilding its data feed. I was then able to run the emulator properly. Check to see if your emulator starts up, and let me know. Thanks!
I started up the emulator and got the exact same error that I posted a screenshot of before. The new configuration doesn't seem to make a difference in it. Thanks for checking that though :) I did add my own music to the playlist, but this was doing this since install, before I added music (if this info helps at all). It's funny because the emulator starts up to a black screen with that message, and the music plays fine.

when you start the emulator, are you able to tell me if you see any background and/or status progress at the bottom of the window? if you are, what is the last status message you see at the bottom of the window before you get the error? Thanks!

This is a very simple issue to fix. You have not configured your 'Core' package, which is for your local forecast. You need to configure the 'Current Conditions' Site, your 8 Local Observation sites, and Extended Forecast City. Once you have configured all of these, then when you 'Review Cfg'n' There will be a link at the bottom of that page that will appear as: 'Build any settings into active cfg'n: Build Now!' .. Once this has been completed, the emulator will no longer complain that the ID no longer exists.

Try that and see if you have any more problems. Thank you!

Bug Reports / Re: Local Weather Data Temporary Unavailable
« on: July 17, 2014, 04:42:58 PM »
Jim,
It appeared that the Zone you have chosen for the Coastal Waters Forecast did not actually provide forecasts 'pzz210'. This is visible here: http://weather.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/fmtbltn.pl?file=forecasts/marine/coastal/pz/pzz210.txt

I have updated the Zone to 'pzz255'. Visible here: http://weather.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/fmtbltn.pl?file=forecasts/marine/coastal/pz/pzz255.txt

This appeared to have corrected the issue.

Every time when I start the emulator after downloading it, I get an error that says

"Run-time error '35600':
Index out of bounds"

Is there a fix for this?

Hi,
Sorry about the delay in response, what is your ID you are working with ?

I for one can say, having worked for large companies can see that things like this are on the to-do list up on the white board.. and things come up that either delay or shelve items on that to-do list. It generally doesn't mean the items have fallen off the list, but not working with their company on a day-to-day basis, I am not sure what they are tasked with. For all we know, members of the Star team are overwhelmed by building configs for HD stars and other things are told to wait. They have a very talented group of people, but at the end of the day, there are only so many hours to work on improvements / configs / deadlines / due dates / etc. As with telling viewers insider information, they aren't obligated to answer such answers (like deadlines, or due dates), and I would feel the same. Viewers (or customers) only need to know what they need to know.

My 2 cents :)

Wow, a ton of broken promises from TWC regarding the LOT8s.  Analog signal with legacy STARs remains, no graphics update to the IS Jr, and no music changes.  Since the sources where you all got this information seem to be reasonable, this either means that TWC couldn't care less about this aspect of their station anymore, or that they're giving BS answers to their viewers about date changes, future plans, etc.

Bug Reports / Re: Outdated 36 Hour Data / Can't Change
« on: June 10, 2014, 12:54:53 PM »
I ran the emulator for the first time in over a year so I don't know how long it has been doing this, but the data is long out of date on my 36 hour forecast. I tired changing zone numbers and get this error:

Quote
NWS Zone: paz106

Data from NWS does not provide tabular Extended forecast data, try a close neighboring state.

Any other zones I try that don't give out the error still give me outdated forecast data.

Affiliate name: MikeM2010

Hey Mike,
As you were aware from our area, they split Montgomery County into two zones, and Bucks into two zones as well. I made a change to the emulator to accommodate this change. I need to make a change on the web configuration interface, then I will upload that version to correct this problem.

Analog retired as of 4:35 AM EDT today. There is now no more signal..
Oh, that's sad.... I never got to see a legacy star in person. I guess I never will.  :noexpression: RIP WeatherStars 4000-XL

Actually.. on a better note, I was wrong, there was something wrong with the ground station equipment. The analog is still with us
