The Flick and a Forecast situation happened again this week when TWC went to longform during the Phoenix dust storm, except now we can call it "Lik and a Forecast."

Local Forecast / Re: Weatherstar 4000 Locations that remain

Those people in Northfield are lucky. When I moved to Claremont NH I was hoping there would be a 4000 here since it's much more rural than where I moved from, but was disappointed to see it was still an Intellistar, probably because it's Comcast here. The 4000 where I grew up in CT was replaced by an XL in the late 90s, and of course that too is now an Intellistar.

I don't have Weatherscan in my area, even though I have Comcast. My parents do have it, but that's probably because they're in a more metropolitan area. They actually stopped watching the main TWC altogether and get all their weather info from Weatherscan. Smaller towns and rural areas are at a definite disadvantage.

There is a tornado warning just south of St. Louis but TWC is not pre empting the longform. I agree with the earlier posts, they have been very inconsistent with their coverage of severe weather. In a season like this where severe tstorms happen almost every night TWC has really demonstrated how unreliable it has become. The old TWC we loved isn't coming back, so the best option now is local TV or NOAA radio.

Maybe soon ESPN will start covering the Stock Market.  :dunno:
