Today, on the 30th anniversary of the Mount St. Helens eruption, they're showing the Nick Walker-narrated Forecast Earth about it.

After a WUWA promo showed at 1:50 AM: "I might be dozing off to Al in a few hours." And then during the next segment, while showing some daypart forecasts for major cities, he said someting to the tune of "I'll still be sleeping. Well, maybe I shouldn't say that, I might make some people mad here."

I guess we know Adam isn't working any early shows tomorrow. :P

Also, before WWCH started at 2 AM ET, Adam did a 60-second forecast segment. He probably wasn't too happy about having to stay a few minutes late.

I would say it's not NBC's fault.  It is the producer's, or whoever created the graphic, fault.  For example, say you're local TV station has a typo on one of their graphics.  Who do you blame, the person who created it, or the company that owns the station?

You guys can't keep putting the blame on NBC when something goes wrong on The Weather Channel.  :hmm:

And to add.. it really wasn't ALL that big of a deal.  I know I would not have noticed..
Well said. It's not like NBC is trucking their workers down to Atlanta to run the control rooms and mess things up. It's a simple mistake that anyone could have made.

The issue is now fixed. Thanks STAR Team.

It looks like When Weather Changed History will be airing weeknights from 2-3am eastern all this week and next week.

Chris Warren and Stephanie Abrams on YWT... wonder why Chris is on this early...
It's not unheard of to have the 7 PM WC host on YWT. Remember when Kevin Robinson would have to fill on on YWT even after he had moved to 7 PM WC?

Hello STAR Team,

On my Weatherscan (Chambersburg, PA, STAR ID 20778), there is a mislabeled Interstate shield on the Hagerstown radar. What is labeled as Interstate 73 on the map, should be Interstate 99. On the other cities on this unit, Interstate 99 is correctly labeled.

Thanks!

Local Forecast / Re: HD Warning Crawl?
« on: May 15, 2010, 10:13:58 PM »
No. Any warning crawl you see on your screen on the SD feed is generated by a STAR. There are two options regarding warning crawls on HD (neither have materialized yet): The HD STAR, or a crawl originating from the control room in Atlanta (like the national SD LDL or HD LDL/LDA).

Local Forecast / Re: Satellite LF Sightings

Sat lf 12:58pm ET - no LDL
My IS cued at 12:58.
You don't even have cable, wtf are you talking about
Um, DirecTV has an IS too. :whistling:
1) Only the LDL is an IS. 2) You should've been more specific. Your post clearly sounds like you had the IS and that the IS failed to cue
DirecTV and Dish don't have an LDL anymore. The LDL that you see on satellite is on the national feed coming from Atlanta. The only visible signs of an IntelliStar on DirecTV and Dish are the Station ID and the Local Forecast ad bug (either the LOT8s logo or an advertisement). DirecTV and Dish viewers do have an IntelliStar, it's just not local.

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: May 14, 2010, 04:00:55 PM »
Does the Weather Bulletins screen not show during one-minute IntelliStar flavors anymore? I've been under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for over an hour now, and the Weather Bulletins screen has been missing from all three one-minute LFs thus far. It has been present on the LDL, however.

Edit: No Weather Bulletins on the two-minute LF at 4:08 PM ET. Also, the lightning bolt for the watch tab is missing after the first time the LDL cycles through the watch (I believe this is already documented).

Edit: The Bulletins screen showed at 4:18 PM ET.

Have you tried resetting your DirecTV receiver?
