Wow - I've never seen an Almanac page without data!  That information is supposed to be generated from within the Intellistar unit itself, based on geographic location, so it's "technically" not supposed to ever expire, since it can be created even without a data feed from TWC.

Guess this picture proved my theory wrong!

That's what I thought, but I guess my unit didn't have enough time to calculate this data right after the reboot. In case any one is wondering what an IntelliStar looks like with absolutely no data, today's your lucky day. :P

They need to learn about overscan areas. It's just as bad on the large national SD LDL where the ".com" is cut off on most TVs.

Anyone ever see everything on the Almanac on the IntelliStar totally missing?

There have been weather warnings for our area the past two days.

Oddly enough, they are tagged with an obs site of "ALHAMBRA" (the Phoenix neighborhood) while everything else is Phoenix, Phoenix Area, and Mesa.

Rest of the STAR seems normal, but...this is odd. Is it to make it appear first, perhaps, by giving it "A"?
The same thing happens on my IntelliStar. On the large LDL when a Weather Bulletin is displayed, the observation site is listed as New Oxford, but New Oxford is not one of the three normal observation sites on my LDL. Coincidentally, New Oxford was the observation site on my LDL on the morning of June 2, 2008 from right after the blue LDL was introduced.

Scott Williams is reporting live from the tornado-ravaged areas of Ohio. I believe this is the first time Scott has done a live report.

After all the excitement of hoping to getting severe weather here, we got NOTHING in Bensalem. We had gusty winds, but that was it. <_<
Same here, Mike. We didn't even get raindrops and the sun came out afterwards.
Same as you two. All hype, no storms whatsoever. Just got some strong breezes and a few showers. Oh well, it should be a very nice few days behind this front.

Currently under our first tornado watch of the year. There is a high likelihood of both tornadoes (90% of two tornadoes or more) and severe wind (>95% chance of 6 or more combined severe wind/hail events), according to the SPC.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Bright House to drop TWC?
« on: June 05, 2010, 11:10:59 PM »
They don't even have TWC on QAM here.

I don't know of any cable company who does

Quite a few do. Just do a ZIP code search on SiliconDust, and you'll find some.

Jeff Morrow was out today, and Bill Keneely was filling in. Surprisingly, he did just fine, and sounded as if he too was from Pittsburgh (knowing all the roads, bridges, tunnels, etc).
Bill is a walking road atlas.

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Topic
« on: June 01, 2010, 08:58:34 PM »
Wow, can't believe there are intellistars in the 30000's now! :o
Is the ID # the #Weatherscan it is to be produced or something?
Basically, the ID number for any IntelliStar (including the Weatherscan IntelliStar) can be used to show an approximate age of the unit. Units from 2003 (which is when the IS was first introduced) are down in the low 20000s. The ID numbers generally increase with each unit that is rolled out. New units are now in the low 30000s, which basically infers that about 10,000 IntelliStar (and Weatherscan IntelliStar) units have been added in the past seven years.
