TWC Today News / Re: New Server
« on: September 29, 2010, 01:08:37 AM »
The dns servers my laptop uses haven't propgated as of yet, thus I am still getting to the old site. Once that eventually corrects itself in the next 12 hours or so, I will fix the logo. There are errors in the php coding due to the transfer, so bear with me please! It's high on my priority list. :-)
Apparently the new server is in the central time zone, thus the logo rotation was an hour off. This has now been fixed.
Speaking of the logo, have the times been updated to reflect TWC's new programming schedule?

The last (and only, IIRC) time they used the key walls with the red light was during the TWC Outage of January 2008. I don't know why they are using the red light, unless there is another outage, which I find highly unlikely. So, I am confused.
Um the key walls were used until the HD relaunch
We're talking about the key wall that has the red tally light above it.

During afternoon long-form, they've been doing periodic weather updates on Tropical Storm Igor from the key wall in the studio with the red light above it.

What phone do you have? It looks like something that's a tiny bit old because that seems like Android 1.6.
T-Mobile G1. It is running Android 1.6, which is the highest officially supported on it. I could root it and install 2.2, but I'm not. :P

Ordered a new Dell desktop today. This will be the first desktop I have gotten in 8 years that I will use as an actual computer. Ive gotten a couple cheap towers in the past for servers.  I can't believe they now have 6 core CPUs!! 12 threads! I remember when the PentiumII was super awesome.

Studio XPS 9000
1   317-4541   Intel Core i7 980 Extreme (3.33GHz, 12MB Cache)
1   317-0080   12GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz
1   320-1292   ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5
1   341-8519   1TB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive 7200 RPM
Awesome system!

From what I understand, the hardware in the domestic IS is identical to the hardware on the Weatherscan IS. The only difference is the installed software. So yes, I believe in theory it would be possible by swapping out the hard drives in each unit.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Re: IntelliStar 022608 Background Error
« on: September 05, 2010, 12:14:05 AM »
That's something I saw many times (sadly) with the WeatherStar 4000, but I actually never dreamed it could happen to the IntelliStar, especially so soon.

Is it only during the "Almanac" screen, or is every screen that doesn't have a map like that?

It happens on every non-map screen.
