Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: December 24, 2013, 12:48:08 AM »
For the past two LF's (and possibly longer) my IS has not been showing any current conditions. The Now screen has been blank, as has the left side of the Summary screen at the end of the LF. Furthermore, no current conditions have been appearing on the LDL.

Video:

Local Forecast - December 22, 2013 - 9:18am

Also notice the cutoff text and narration on the single local forecast slide, plus abundant buzzzzzzzing.

Nexus 7 (2013) 16 GB, 64 GB SanDisk USB flash drive, 100pk DVD+R, 100pk CD-R, coax amplifier, stocked up on toothpaste and deodorant. Was able to get 25% off at work today.

Please do not get me started.  If the trend of Black Friday sales starting earlier and earlier every year continues, then it won't be too long before stores are open all day on Thanksgiving.

My store was open all day on Thanksgiving.  I worked the overnight shift, from 5 PM on Thursday to 5 AM on Friday.
Ditto. Had to work on both Thanksgiving and Black Friday. 9:30a-6:30p Thursday, 7:30a-4:30p Friday.

It's never going to happen, but a 2013 XL graphics refresh. I did this in less than a half hour, and I'm arguably a horrible designer. If TWC put even a few hours into the XL, they could come up with something better with very little effort.

$3.43. Still so expensive here.

Does anyone know how many background pictures they use on the IS2? Seems like every time I watch, I see a new picture.
Was wondering the same thing about the IS. There are tons of different backgrounds, I have seen some repeat, however.

Currently under a Severe Thunderstorm warning and I heard the beeping and narration for the warning on my IS.

Edit: I just now heard the beeping and narration for the Severe Thunderstorm Warning, but the crawl is NOT on the screen. Only the LDL.

That name sounds familiar. I think I had heard his name tied to Weatherscan in the past. But pretty cool that he has a CD and website coming soon!

Also has anyone's IntelliStar SD been having issues with constant lagging when transitioning between the hourly and 7-day forecast, as well as the 7-day's icons rerendering towards the end of the duration of the product?
Yep. I've been noticing that, too. IS 22608.

  • Severe weather crawl: Crawl no longer has beeps - this is intentional. Also, all crawls are now red no matter if they are a warning, watch or advisory
I could be mistaken, but I thought the beeping (or some kind of audible tone) was required by the FCC. Isn't that the reason the Weather STAR III was discontinued?

Anyone know how many different LOT8s backgrounds there are? They're all really nice.
