General Discussion / Re: Recent music purchases
« on: March 27, 2008, 01:51:24 PM »
I just bought David Benoit's Inner Motion CD at a nearby thrift store for a buck. Thrift store shopping pays off again!

And just a few weeks ago I picked up Nightnoise's Shadow of Time CD at the very same thrift store for the very same price!  :twothumbs:
Ohh, what thrift store is that, Gary? :P They seem to have a lot better selection than the ones we have up here.

Sounds like it might be the flu. Hope you get better soon, Dan.

Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC Schedule
« on: March 26, 2008, 01:27:43 PM »
I'm too lazy to type out a full schedule but I think it is ESSENTIAL that overnight outlook return. I know long form programming is here to stay (I'm OK with most of it right now except for Storm Stories and Forecast Earth). But in press releases TWC constantly talks about how its a "24/7" network. Uh, not exactly. There's what, 3-4 hours each overnight with no live programming? Especially during severe weather situations I think overnight programming is critical. Many local stations are off the air at the time and having TWC live with severe weather coverage would be nice. Hopefully OO makes a return in the future.
Actually, there are only two hours overnight with no live programming (2 AM - 4 AM ET), but I believe there have been cases where EEWC has run live all night, like for approaching tropical systems, and major severe weather outbreaks.

I wish the 2-4am would be taking over by the early intellistar Satellite emergency feed mixed with Trammell & Regular Overnight music
Even better yet, get TWC to bring back the 4000 TCF scroll, and have that constantly loop with Trammell in the background. I remember I made a fake TWC schedule of my own up at one point, and the name of one of the overnight shows was "WeatherSTAR 4000 TCF Loop with Trammell Starks." :P

Al, are you by any chance the undersigned here?

His name isn't on the list.

Username: 20AL09 = Al

I highly doubt that it is Al. Have you actually read the text of that petition? ;)

i only got the nano becuz it was the cheaper one i could purchase. i cannot watch videos on it either. <_<
I don't even know why anyone would want to watch video on such a small screen. You'd kill your eyes trying to watch video on a 2" screen.

How much are Nano's?
$149 for the 4GB model, $199 for the 8GB one.

That's still alot of money, IMO.  :ninja:
I agree. There are a lot of other players out there where you get more bang for the buck. You're paying for the Apple name when you get an iPod.
You guys have obviously NEVER used an iPod a day in your life. If you did, its guaranteed that you'd think differently about the price.
Believe me, I've used iPods before. I honestly didn't see what made it so special, and they're definitely not worth the price you pay for them. I would go as far to say Apple is price gouging them.

I got a 5 GB Creative Zen Micro back in 2005 for $130, and it does a lot more than what any $150 iPod can do (e.g. record audio, FM tuner).

Can you show us an example?

They're likely just spots of missing or corrupt data. It happens from time to time on all satellite imagery.
