Before the commercial break at 9:06 PM ET, there was a long 10-15 second black screen, and then they never turned off the LDL during the commercials.

They actually preempted the Weekly Planner on A&B tonight to talk about severe weather at 8:20 PM ET. They moved the Weekly Planner to 8:50 PM ET when the Tropical Update should've aired, and never aired the Tropical Update.

Around here I've noticed that Comcast doesn't activate the EAS system for severe weather. Even back in April when we were under Tornado Warning it wasn't activated.

Wow, I was just now watching TV when all of a sudden the screen went black and an EAS test appeared. can't say I've ever seen one at this hour before. 

I've occasionally seen them at or just around midnight, but normally I see them in the late morning or afternoon.

I don't know. I don't have the HD channel. FWIW, it was not letterboxed on the SD channel.

And speaking of Jim Cantore, Carl Parker is in tonight for Jim. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

What haven't you seen? Carl filling in, or Jim being absent? Strange as it may seem, Jim IS human you know. Even he needs a day off once in awhile. 

I've never seen Carl filling in for Jim. Normally when Jim is absent, there is never a third EE anchor.

I wonder what the last show to move into the HD will be? My guess is Weather Center. It was the first show that is still around to broadcast from the old studio, and I think it very well could be the last, too.

I didn't go to school today. Didn't feel like it plus I don't have to take finals today either.

Skipping school...that's a nice habit to get into.

Nah, close, but no cigar. I missed two days my Freshman year: November 18th and December 15th, 2003.

On November 18, I missed a half day due to an emergency doctor's appointment because I fell on a wet sidewalk and my elbow needed X-rayed because I thought I might have broken it. That was the only time I needed to go to the emergency room, too.

On December 15, I had a serious cold or flu, probably a flu because I remember having really bad chills, plus it was right in the peak of flu season. I also remember that was the day Winamp 5.0 was released.

At 3:40 PM ET, it looks like the lights at the chroma key were way too bright for a minute or so. Everything was washed out and for the rest of the segment Vivian took a step off the screen, even though it looks like they lowered the level of the lights.
