For the weather update at 6 PM ET, there were updated L3rds. Not sure which show they'll be used on, however. I guess PME or WC because they're blue.

« on: May 09, 2011, 11:12:10 AM »New Lower Thirds Debut Today on Day Planner. If you want my opinion on them, I believe they're ugly. As for the show intro, still the same as the 2008 launchYou beat me to it. Was just about to come here to post this.
I don't mind the new L3rds, but they kind of do have have the look of other NBC networks now. The font appears to be Frutiger or something similar.

TWC already has a tornado chaser show and so do other networks. Vortex2 was unique. I am not sure how I feel about thisI feel that this will be different, however. AFAIK, no other network has any live tornado chase programs.

I dont think so. he has a doctorate degree, I doubt if it was in meteorology he'd be working in television. I think its in communications/general tv production. He has his own company called "Al Roker Entertainment" ARE. http://www.weather.com/tv/personalities/Al-Roker.html
That's an honorary doctorate, in other words, not real.

The new radar system (not sure what it's called) looks really nice. The animations and transitions are really smooth compared to SkyTracker/Titan.
