Yeah, I think this outage had beaten the one we had during the meltdown!
Yep, the Trammell during the meltdown only lasted about 10 hours.

Programming and Graphics / Re: DirecTV Wrong Guide Listing
« on: August 07, 2008, 12:41:01 AM »
At least it's better than my box. It just shows "Weather Channel" all day long. It doesn't list the names of the shows, not even long-form programming.
That's how my box was until a few months back when they finally decided to put the actual programming names on.
On my box, it lists "WeatherCenter" all day. Are we in 1999 or 2008 here? :P

OCMs & Personalities / "So You're Having A Bad Day?"
« on: August 07, 2008, 12:38:15 AM »
Just discovered that Rich Johnson actually wrote a book back in 2003, titled "So You're Having A Bad Day?"

Quote
From the Publisher
Are you going through life with no direction, not knowing which way to turn? The struggles of life can overwhelm us and tear us down. Our lives are complicated by diets that don’t work, bad habits that can’t be broken, children that are rebellious, and schedules that are overbooked. The problems seem too large to overcome. With seemingly no way out, life can become frustrating, depressing, and just plain tiring. By studying God's Word, the Bible, and by applying its concepts, you can soon be on the road to living a joyful, fruitful life for God. "So, You're Having a Bad Day?" demonstrates how to live according to God's plan. Through the power of prayer and obedience to His Word, you will learn how to deal with life’s difficulties and find the smile that you have lost.

About the Author
Rich Johnson is an on-camera meteorologist with The Weather Channel®. In his spare time he likes to play tennis. He also enjoys Bible study and teaching on prayer and non-Christian religions. Currently, he is living in Georgia with his wife and their twin children.

Anyone heard of the book or read it?

And I wonder if there are any "let's do that" or "sounds like a plan" moments in it? :P

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Segments

Mine in Lancaster had the following:

  • Lancaster (local forecast)
  • Lancaster Radar
  • Travel
  • Airport
  • Garden
  • Health
  • Ski

I think that's all of them. I wish I had recorded more Weatherscan videos before Cocmast removed it.

I'm with those folks. I can't stand the lifestyles pages. Just gimme my forecast.
Exactly. If it were up to me, Weatherscan would be just current conditions, radar, and a forecast.
