General Discussion / Re: The Pot Belly Stove

Why is the intellistar more prone to outages and errors than other stars like the XL or Junior?
Where do you get this idea? IMO, the reason you may think so is because more people have the IntelliStar, therefore errors and outages get reported much more often.
Yes that makes sense. But why?
I just explained why. ;)

Local Forecast / Re: Trammell Sightings
« on: August 08, 2008, 09:58:43 PM »
If the Trammell continues this weekend, I'll record some XL clips and post 'em.

A couple of things that are odd though - there appears to be some "stuttering" when a new track starts up.  Also, the Trammell playlist appears to be on "shuffle" mode... didn't it used to be in order, as on his CDs?  Also, I see the satellite forecast for a split second at the start of every local forecast.  Kinda makes me believe there's more than a playlist problem going on.  And am I correct in assuming, in whatever order the music is playing, that it continues "behind the scenes" during commercials and live broadcasts?  That's why when a Local Forecast starts, the song is already in progress?

Thx - and I'll hopefully get some new Xl vids this weekend!

The satellite local forecast is broken, from what we know. To prevent satellite viewers from looking at nothing for two minutes during the local forecast, TWC has flipped over to the "emergency feed" which is a constant satellite LF and a constant loop of 20 Trammell Songs.

CriminalCola's XL is probably getting upgraded to an IntelliStar.

Regular: $3.47
Premium: $3.74
Diesel: $4.19

:)

That's cheap. As of last night, it was still $3.69 for regular here.

Interesting. Apparently there is a Weather Underground weather station like a half mile from my house. I know exactly where the weather station is, because I can see it every time I go past it.

If so, I'm still going by my original theory as to why it's down...  :whistling:
Which is? :whistling:
TWC is upgrading the SD satellite LF from a 9-year old WPS-based system to a new Vizrt-based one.

Would there be any difference with the current satellite LF if they are upgrading to the Virtz based system?
Most likely, yes, there would be very noticeable differences. I imagine it would look like the HD Satellite LF.

Something's also wrong with the way that EEWC is being played back tonight; the recording is kicking in a few seconds early with the start of every segment so that you can see the tail end of the satellite LFs that aired during the live broadcast. (as well as the top of the hour bumper that originally aired during the live show)
So I suppose that would explain why I'm hearing fragments of the "normal" music playlist at the end of each local forecast. So I assume the SD satellite LF is still down? If so, I'm still going by my original theory as to why it's down...  :whistling:
