The SD satellite LDL that they're currently using looks like something special they're using for Lee coverage. It doesn't transition in like the normal satellite LDL and the Lee inset satellite seems to appear in congruence with the LDL. Furthermore, the LDL seems to be a darker shade of blue than the normal one.

Has anyone with DirecTV or Dish seen their IntelliStar advisory crawl activated?

For those complaining about the coverage, here are some numbers to wrap your heads around:

Hourly breakdown of Irene coverage:
Live weather coverage: 42 minutes (70%)
Commercials: 18 minutes (30%)

Hourly breakdown during normal coverage:
Live weather coverage: 32 minutes (53%)
Commercials: 18 minutes (30%)
Local Forecasts: 10 minutes (17%)

I've been meaning to ask this for the longest time, but are they ever going to fix that pesky glitch of the Satellite LDL being underneath the IntelliStar LDL?

What do you mean?

I assume this:

Notice that you can see a few pixels of the national LDL above the local LDL.

The diameter of Irene's cloud deck is nearly 800 miles. It's a huge storm.

it was mentioned in the past SA was discontinued, which is why it hasn't been on in years.
We do not know for sure, because there has been no official conformation
Right. Plus, there has been no real reason to use it since 2008, either.

I wonder if TWC will activate the Satellite product for IntelliStars along the east coast in anticipation of Irene?

I already see it on a regular basis when the close-up radar isn't needed.
The actual Satellite product or the Radar/Satellite? The Satellite product is only typically seen on the west coast, and in some circumstances in the past on the east coast when a large blizzard or hurricane was approaching.
