I was fearful when this merger was approved that this was going to be the direction by Comcast Bain Capital etc for TWC & that 70% mark explains it all now i guess we can call it "The Weathertainment Channel" now.

Plus i've been a fan of Al since the mid 80's but this quote really irks me.

"The previous management didn't really see the big picture," Roker said. "They didn't think the audience would watch these kinds of shows."

Well um Al could it be the reason why the previous management didn't do all of this compare to what Comcast is doing now is because they actually cared for their core viewers & were focused on doing WEATHER related stories this channel wouldn't exist if it wasn't for them.

One thing about these reality shows it's all runned by a guy name Mark Burnett he's the mastermind with all the reality tv stuff that's going on across the networks.

According to Mike Bettes' Facebook, the Tornado Hunt is suspended because of lack of Severe Weather.

Now, watch a huge tornado outbreak occur in a few weeks.  People need to let go of the fact that severe weather only comes in a defined season.  It can happen anytime during the year.

It's happening in Europe too Italy Germany Japan just to name a few & also believe it or not in South America here's a clip in Caracus my mother's homeland.

The Weather Channel is no longer a channel that covers weather; it just happens to be an entertainment channel that is "weather-related."

That, in my book, is a tragedy.  But you're 100% right.

Ding.

From a TWC press release,
The "Braving the Elements" anthology will feature multiple miniseries, each comprised of four 30-minute episodes, including: "Lights Out," following crews who are the first ones on the scene to restore power during inclement - and often severe - weather; "Turbine Cowboys," featuring the men and women who are pushed to the limit both physically and emotionally as they  brave extreme heights and every conceivable weather condition to work on wind turbines; and "Iron Men" (working title), profiling the iron workers who spend their days hundreds of feet above New York City. Additional titles in the anthology will be added throughout the year.

The "Braving the Elements" anthology might be the most boring barely weather related shows on The Weather Channel.
Wow a show about people restoring power, skip.
Wow a show about people fixing wind Turbines, skip.
Wow a show about iron workers building in NYC, skip.
From the short preview of "Iron Men" it's like that show on TruTV about the guys who work on oil rigs that fight and curse all day.

While I have respect for the people who do those jobs I have no interest in reality shows about them.

Same here sorry NBC/Comcast but with the exception of true weather stories i'm not interested in what you're selling.
