The way Martin updated that website home page up makes me think harder about Alex.
It's just so depressing looking at how popular this story is getting by the weeks on here.....DANG!!!

If it's truly a lawsuit it wouldn't be the first time ... Bob Stokes/Hillary Andrews. Also Marny Stanier.

If it might be a lawsuit, what type are you talking about?
And, what might cause this?

The only other option is that she was involved in an accident or other event, à la Jeannetta Jones, that is preventing her from working.

However, I doubt it's anything other than her contract not being renewed.

Wow, I hope and pray that's not what happened because that would be devastating. But, nobody knows like I said.
I truly think about her sometimes and wonder if she's okay and stuff like that. It's just A feeling that comes through my mind when I sleep at night. I tend to think about people when they leave and never come back. It's just one of those moments where I tend to feel really good and get cheered up.

I watch TWC all the time, my husband is a farmer........That is when they don't have some stupid other show/re-run airing..... However, I don't recall the video or segment that everyone is referring to on this thread regarding Alexandrea Steele. I came to this site because I was wondering what happened to her......I do recall an evening, shortly after the new guy Chris started, when I thought Alexandra was being way too fresh with him (Chris) and causing him some embarrassment or to be uncomfortable on the air........So did she get fired or did she just leave on her own?  Does anyone really know?  Just curious.

She was let go, as in "We can't keep you anymore." She never left on her own choice.

And no, She was never "too fresh" with Chris Warren.

Actually, nobody knows what went on behind the scenes with these people.
And, there's absolutely no telling if she was getting fresh with him or not because she used to always do it when her and Jim were on-air together.

I will admit, I am not as unhappy to see her go as I am some of the others they've gotten rid of in recent months and years such as Bill Keneely, Mark Mancuso and Dave Schwartz.

IMO, Alexandra doesn't really qualify as a "classic" OCM.

I believe we all know that, but she was way better than those women who are on there now.
Alex was the one who stood out.

I commented on your video. Nice work.

Thank you so much my friend, I really appreciate it.
I just wanted to do something to remember her by, since she was my favorite OCM.
I never did anything like this before, and I just wanted to see what everyone thought about it.

is it just me or has the on camera talent been lackluster lately?

I noticed that too

You mean "wrongful termination"?  Yeah, companies can be held responsible.
There has to be a valid reason.
Technically, they do not have to give a valid reason for being let go .

It's sad, but that's just the way it is.  Hopefully these laid off meteorologists find new work on-air somewhere else.

Yeah, it's very sad.
But, they'll likely find some company that's willing to keep them and except them for who they are.

This is my little tribute video to Alexandra:

Alexandra Steele Tribute

Everyone can view on YT and comment if they want to!!!!

Love it. Great prose and great song choice, the folks at NBC obviously has "no regrets" of letting her go.

Thank you, bro.
And, you notice the first picture is flipped around the opposite way.

Also, NBC needs serious help.

agreed, sis, but as stated before it is a business decision. Sometimes it's just the way the industry works. I just wonder what Alex is doing now..

I know it's a business issue, but they need to reconsider because NBC is a gigantic company with a lot of employees and stuff like that.
And, I bet Alex is just sitting back at home trying to find another job or taking care of that little precious daugther she has.

General Discussion / Re: Recent discovered songs
« on: October 16, 2010, 11:02:22 PM »
I thought it might be interesting to talk about song(s) that you've recently discovered. The idea being that if it peaked your interest, it might interest another member. The only rule is that the song can't be from Top 40 radio or TWC, since most will probably be familiar with it.

Anyway, here's my list (from the past month) to get us started...

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew, Blue In Green ( Jazz )
Sam Cooke - Bring It On Home To Me, Nothing Can Change This Love ( R&B )
The O'Jays - Sunshine ( R&B )
Luther Vandross - I Listen To The Bells ( R&B/Christmas )
Solomon Burke - Soul Meeting ( Soul )
Clarence Carter - Snatching It Back ( Soul )
Otis Redding - For Your Precious Love ( R&B )
New Edition - I'm Still In Love With You ( R&B )
Shades Of Blue - Oh How Happy ( Soul )
Brian Courtney Wilson - All I Need ( Gospel )
Sanctus Real - Lead Me ( Christian )
Hillsong - Forever Reign ( Christian )
Roy Hamilton - Don't Let Go ( R&B )
David Helpling - Sticks & Stones, Frozen Channel, Divine Whisper ( New Age )
ATB - Trilogy ( Trance)
Michael W. Smith - Song For The King ( Christian/Christmas )
Bill Douglas - Azure, Island Of Woods ( New Age )
Two Steps From Hell - Eyes Closing ( Production Music )

I think I have some good songs in mind.
