Local Forecast / Re: TWC Songs you've heard in other places
« on: February 21, 2009, 07:28:16 PM »
I heard "Smiles" by Present Tense while waiting for a bus at the train station, I also heard another song that played on TWC before while at Chick Fil A, I'm not sure on who the artist or song title is.

An hour of long form programming on weekends is fine, but to show hours of it back to back again and to hear about a boy getting a hole blown into his favorite shorts from lightning doesn't help me figure out when's the next chance for rain is coming.

3-4 tops. The bump isn't that big yet.

Yeah, 3-4 sounds reasonable, if she was 5 or 6 months she would be bigger.

I just had the most brilliant idea, maybe if they STOP laying off ocms they won't have to resort to doing this, I know the economy has had some influence in those lay offs, but I think they should have been planned out more effectively. There's no way they are going to have any good ratings on weekends. How do they expect people to know the forecast if they can only see it every 30 minutes with that kind of schedule? I can wait for the local news to show a weather forecast instead. Weatherscan could pull in higher ratings than that schedule and it's not even available to everyone as TWC is.

I agreee. Three hours is nuts.
That's because apparently the average TV viewers are nuts. <_<

They have to be if they can stand to look at those same stupid 6 episodes of FFN and ICHT all the time.

Darn you NBC for ruining everything! The blood (ocm shortage) is draining so fast it's becoming too ridiculous. They shouldn't move Heather from the show she's been on since it's debut, it wouldn't be YWT, it would be "That weather morning show that has Nicole on it."

To SnowManiac:  TWC is just covering your area non-stop right now.  I hope you're able to dodge these serious supercells over the next several hours.  TWC even gave an unofficial report of golf-ball size hail up to a depth of one foot from the very storm in eastern Alabama that is approaching your area.  I've never heard of a hail report like that before!

I'm watching that storm as well, the other 3 storms passed to my north and south, luckily none has gone through the heart of Downtown where I live. TWC is sounding off their warning ticker every 2 minutes with either a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and Tornado Warning. The BTI in Peachtree City is 7.6 and there's one at 7.8 to our east.

I'm watching your area very carefully right now, too.  Everyone south of I-20 within Atlanta will get some hail and wind, and the extreme southern suburbs could see the tornado if it's still on the ground.

We had tremendous lightning and thunder with the Severe Thunderstorm Warning an hour ago. Our abc local station WSB-TV showed a lightning bolt hitting the Bank of America HQ building downtown. The screen went completely white for 2 seconds!  :thrilled: These have been impressive springtime supercell storms.

Things are getting dangerous here in Atlanta, we have been under 4 tornado warnings in just 2 hours! I heard at least 6 EAS bulletins come up on the tv. :o Another one is coming out of Alabama with a tornado warning heading right for us again!
