Why can't they just get rid of Samantha and Todd and stop letting all the great ones go? :(

I checked CBS Atlanta's website, and he's no longer with them.  Is this a recent thing?  Do we know why he left?

woah...what? He's no longer there??
* Anistorm should ask SnowManiac

Apparently, he's not, they hired a new OCM named Cris Martinez, if you want to see him he's in this video:(5:08 in the video)

It makes me mad that they did that  :censored:, I figured they probably did let him go because I haven't seen him working weekends since that recording I got of him in July. If I had to guess, he was probably let go because he's not a certified met (has no degree for metorology). Dagmar Midcap, who took over for the former Chief Met Gene Norman who left for Houston in Jan 08' is also not certified, she's classified as a "Weather Presenter", but I think she's going to school to get a degree though, I have to check on that to be sure.

I don't think that's an error; it must be something new they're trying out. My IS has shown a full-screen graphic for the radio station lately as well.

I just noticed that graphic for the first time today about 10 minutes ago.

:hmm:

Ray seemed a little upset during the last segment as well, and said "goodbye" in a way that he'd never come back.

Is he really leaving? It says we'll miss you on the lower display.

Also I see they used the original WV theme music this morning eventhough it was VERY brief.  <_<

Final Ballot for NJ results

A bit surprised by the Governor outcome. Very interesting election to watch

I'm surprised hat wasn't a run off, the mayor race we had here was a run off and the two canidates were not as close together in votes or percentage as those two governors. How exactly does this whole run off thing works? Is the citeria for run offs different for different areas?  :dunno:

For ATL AFAIK if neither canidate does not get more than 50% of the vote they have a run off. The run off is held a few months later and the winner of that determines the outcome. This is just off of what I have heard so I am not sure. Atlanta has a freaky system

That's probably the case, the same thing happened 8 years ago twice when the votes were divided for the mayor we have now, but I think the only reason there was a run off twice for that election was because her opponent refused to concede to her.

Everyone in my area is sick with coughs and swine flu. If there is a swine flu outbreak going on in schools, then why are they not shutting them down?

because it's not as serious as they originally thought...

Actually , I read they closed down about 300 schools last week for Swine Flu precautions, they expect twice as many more schools will close for at least a week or more before the year is over, I find it hard to believe that SC is only experiencing regional flu outbreak and not widespread, they're surrounded by neighboring widespread flu states.

IntelliStar - Pleasant California Like Wx for Election Day 09'
Were enjoying California like weather for today and for the next week ahead, for those who like extreme weather and live in the South right now will find this next week to be boring weatherwise. Although I love to see action in the weather, it's a nice change to get a break to start off my favorite month of the year.  B) Features my favorite Wayne Gerard song "Brand Nu Day" :sing: :sing:

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Topic
« on: November 01, 2009, 01:27:32 PM »
Weatherscan rebooted here at approximately 1:59 AM EST, likely caused by the time change. Clip to come.

Mine did too, also the IntelliStar was down at that time (I think), there was a Sat LF. I wasn't able to record Weatherscan here rebooting because by the time I opened up WinTV, it returned back to normal. I don't even remember the ID all I remember is that it started off with 019---. Maybe I'll be able to catch it next daylight savings in March. Last night was the first time I saw Weatherscan return to normal automatically after rebooting, the weirdest thing was the radar wasn't able when they were showing the LF for Atlanta, but when the LF for Marietta came up the radar was back to normal.
