...WINTRY PRECIPITATION EXPECTED FOR NORTH AND PORTIONS OF CENTRAL
GEORGIA SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING...

A STORM SYSTEM DEVELOPING OVER THE PLAINS WILL MOVE QUICKLY INTO
THE TENNESSEE VALLEY REGION BY SUNDAY MORNING...SPREADING PRECIPITATION
INTO PORTIONS OF NORTH AND WEST GEORGIA SUNDAY AFTERNOON. AT THIS
TIME...IT APPEARS THAT THE PRECIPITATION ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON WILL
FALL AS RAIN. HOWEVER...AS WE GO INTO SUNDAY NIGHT THE PRECIPITATION
IS EXPECTED TO BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD WITH RAIN BECOMING MIXED
WITH SNOW ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA DURING THE EVENING. PRECIPITATION
IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO ALL SNOW ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA AFTER
MIDNIGHT...AND CONTINUE INTO MONDAY MORNING. ACROSS PORTIONS OF
CENTRAL GEORGIA A RAIN-SNOW MIX IS EXPECTED...GENERALLY NORTH OF A
COLUMBUS TO MACON LINE.

LATEST INDICATIONS ARE THAT SOME AREAS ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA COULD
SEE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS IN THE 1 TO 2 INCH RANGE...MAINLY FROM A
CEDARTOWN TO GAINESVILLE LINE NORTHWARD...BEFORE THE SNOW TAPERS
OFF TO FLURRIES MONDAY AFTERNOON.

THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY...AND SMALL ADJUSTMENTS IN THE
STORM TRACK MAY MAKE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE POTENTIAL SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS. RESIDENTS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA ARE URGED
TO MONITOR THEIR NOAA WEATHER RADIOS OR THEIR LOCAL MEDIA FOR
LATER UPDATES.

Very impressive :)

Very impressive indeed! :D I'm still in shock over the 8.6 inches in Columbia,SC! The one place that wasn't forecasted to get much of anything until the last minute. The roads around here are horrible especially side roads, I wouldn't dare try to drive around until now since it's around 30° so raods are starting to get wet. Even the weekend OCM at our NBC affiliate Chris Holcomb was stuck on a I-85 access road for 5 hours, he barely got into work in time for the 6am newscast this morning.

It's amazing how snowfall amounts are being underpredicted in a lot of areas, it's even more amazing how the GFS and NAM computer models took such a large shift to the north with this storm compared to a couple of days ago. This goes to show that these storms are still unpredictable no matter what computer models say. Even now they're (GFS/NAM) trying to bomb this out into the 980's and 970's just off the SC coast! :o

This winter sure has been a strange one for everybody, and we still got two more months to go.

It sure has! It's also has been persistently COLD this winter, one of the coldest we have seen in several years.

Stephen in Pensacola is under a Winter Storm Warning

There were computer models showing them getting snow for awhile now, but I'm still shocked to actually see anything being issued. I went under a Winter Storm Watch a couple of hours ago.

The folks at the weather forums who live in the MidAtlantic I'm apart of can't complain that they are having a crappy, snowless winter anymore.  :P
Oh what forum? I enjoy EasWx

Well right now, I'm mostly at the Accuweather forums, they don't have as many experienced members in the SE threads that can read/interpret models and give insight on them like they do in the MidAtl/NE threads so I'm one of the few there that does that. I tried to sign up at Eastern Wx, but I had problems with the email portion, it wasn't accepting any of my two emails.

That graphic just made me very happy. :D  I'm nervously watching this on the models, I don't want to be disappointed again, I've gotten burned enough this winter. I'm not gonna lose it and get excited until at least Wednesday or Thursday when we'll know for sure.
