OCMs & Personalities / Re: Mike Bettes to chase tornadoes once again
« on: April 25, 2014, 03:58:15 PM »
Yeah, I expected it. There's really no reason not to do it again, he's well aware of the risk. They picked a good week for storm chasing though. Next week looks really nasty and may be a prolonged multi-day event.

Looks like the show is continuing to get poor ratings. From Newsblues:

On Friday, Sammy Champion's "AMHQ" on The Weather Channel pulled a 39K in the demo, the show's lowest in its five-week existence.

Al Roker's "Wake Up With Al," at 5:30 a.m., had 70K in the demo...nearly TWICE Champion's audience.

Or, to put it another way, nearly half of Roker's demo audience leaves when Sammy shows up.

Ouch.

Maybe I have a false impression (or too high of an expectation) of ratings for cable morning shows, but it seems  like the ratings for both shows suck. I feel bad for Sam, I don't want him to crash and burn this soon so fast. He desperately needs a pick-me-up ASAP.

Ok, this is probably an odd question to ask here, but does anyone here buy clothes from American Eagle and have one of those AERewards cards? If so, can you explain to me how exactly this works? I understand the whole points thing, it's the discounts that's confusing me. I recently got some clothes from there during this current rewards period which ends this Monday (March 31st) and I have 364 points. That would be 30% off the next time I purchase something. What I'm trying to figure out is can I use this now before March 31st or is this the reward I would receive in the mail the following month after this rewards earning period ends? :dunno:

The aerewards or ae websites don't really explain how the discounts work. I wouldn't want that 30% off to go to waste.... :hmm:
I've never used those reward cards, but did you find out what had to be done before that March 31 deadline, Tavores?

Well yes and no. I'm not worrying about it anymore. I'm just gonna assume the 30% IS the reward coming for me in the mail this month.

I finally got my answer, they did send the 30% off ae rewards code in the mail this morning. Case closed.

I didn't see anything wrong with the Earth Day BG/layout. It's nice to see they have themed layouts for special occasions and holidays like this.

Local Forecast / An Alternate Version of "Rainy Day" by CC Gilmore?
« on: April 13, 2014, 04:13:34 PM »
I randomly ran across this, it sounds an awful lot like it...This version is called, "Fortune Teller" by Incognito I'm assuming the same Incognito that's had music featured on TWC before. :dunno:

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: DirecTV Dropping TWC

Saw this article on Yahoo! Sounds like TWC finally folded to DirecTV...

The Weather Channel Returns To DirecTV
https://tv.yahoo.com/news/weather-channel-returns-directv-184115273.html

Yep, DirecTV put a good hurtin' on their pockets, they had to concede.

Here's another arcticle that discusses that DirecTV agreed to a deal with TWC on one condition: slashing reality programming in half with live programming in it's place. Service will be restored to DTV customers today. WN will also remain on DTV.

I never quite understood why before the station ID was discontinued they never displayed the STAR ID on the LDL of legacy STARs during the Lot8s, but they did on the black/blue LDL for the IntelliSTAR.

Tavores, I have to say that your vision of a WS4000 version of the current TWC look is really, really cool.

Thanks, I second that! :cool3:

Below in attachments are my final revised versions of the 8 City Obs from the IntelliStar (2004-'05) I also made the warning bar from scratch.
