Seems like a lot of fuss over nothing.

I deal with a lot of comments from viewers at the station who simply are nasty and negative because they can. If the councilman had expected a legitimate and honest response then publicly tweeting to his followers "Dear @weatherchannel I SWEAR I'm deleting your aggravating app if you don't STOP SHOWING DALLAS pics for Fort Worth " Isn't the best way to do so. Should I really expect to feel sorry that TWC can't program every single city image into its app? The app isn't to provide you with pretty pictures of cities but rather to show weather information.
I couldn't have said it better myself. This is just stupid. He didn't have to take it this far, I mean really that's why TWC Has a Support Website.

Although I somewhat agree with both of you, I think the tweet from TWC staffer was not appropriate either. Reading between the lines, it's obviously clear it was meant to be sarcastic, but it's still insensitive to make a comment like that when it involves something as serious as bullying.

Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Central 2014
« on: May 12, 2014, 09:14:07 PM »
El Nino does typically lower chances of tropical activity in the Atlantic Basin, however, if there is to be any development this season with an El Nino present I would look to homebrew stuff in the Gulf. Nothing major, but I can see a few tropical storms or maybe a weak hurricane spinning up there.

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I think either an El Nino was developing or already in progress during the 2004 and 2005 hurricane season wasn't it? If so, both of those seasons were very active and record breaking. So an El Nina or La Nina doesn't 100% determine how bad the season will overall be. Heck, look at the past 5 years where a La Nina was around and we couldn't get crap to form because of a barrage of dry air and wind shear stagnating the Atlantic Basin.

The WeatherSTAR4000 has always been my all time favorite STAR and always will be. My only regret is I won't be as lucky to have the experience as some of you here who were able to find and witness working units during modern times in person.

General Discussion / Re: My Scripted Series
« on: May 07, 2014, 11:52:34 PM »
I'm going to have to post my first rough draft intro (my AE Project which I got an A+ on btw  :D) of my ongoing developing cartoon series "Misguided Missile" from a third party source. It's about 52MB mp4 file in size, which is pretty small when you're talking about an AE project with a lot of animation in it. When I tried to attach it here, the site flaked out, probably because of my crappy wi-fi connection.  <_< The music is from a band called Captain Cryptic with the same song title name as the cartoon. You can find it on gettyimages.com under the music section. I claim no rights or ownership to their music. I only used it for the sake of my class project because it fits with the intro I created. I have no plans whatsoever to use this song or their music when I recreate the intro over again from scratch to use for the actual series.

I actually came up with the name of my cartoon series because of this song, so it's very likely the name will change. I may just simply call it "Missile" and drop the Misguided part. I don't know yet.

NOTE: Once I get the video posted, you'll notice that I edited parts of the vocal/instrumental versions together.

On second thought, since I'm going to work on an alternate version in the future, I think I will share the version I decided to make for my AE class. In fact, the theme show intro is completed one month ahead of schedule for this semester! :twothumbs: However, I'll wait until I present it in class which won't be until next month and once it's been graded I'll attach it here.

I'm finally finished and ready to present on Monday! I can't wait! :D I'm still gonna do the part in bold afterwards. I should point out again that the version I made for my AE class won't be the same version I would use for the actual show. Right now I'm still working on a script. (just started on it 2 weeks ago) Once I get that done, I'm going to focus my attention on making a short pilot (roughly 3-5 minutes) to post on YouTube. Who knows how long that will take me though.

The southeast was certainly spared from a second tornado outbreak today.  Thank goodness.  Hopefully Wednesday and Thursday will prove to be similarly uneventful.

Except NC, that's where all the action was today surprisingly.

Man, it's gonna be a loooooong three days. I'm more concerned about the flooding right now. We could see anywhere from 2-4+ inches of rain. 6 inches isn't out of the question. :o

FLOOD WATCH goes into effect here after midnight (Monday transitioning to Tuesday)

This minor glitch, well I guess it's a glitch kinda annoys me. When a weather bulletin is being shown on the LDL, I noticed that it cuts off what the specific weather bulletin is and starts with the word "in". So basically it wipes in incorrectly, then a second or two later it reanimates back in correctly.

ex of the first time: "in effect from Monday evening to Wednesday evening."

ex of the second time: "A Flood Watch is in effect from Monday evening to Wednesday evening."

Again, it's minor, but it still annoys me because you would think it would have been fixed by now. It's been doing this since the rebranding last year.

Earlier this afternoon on the national LDL on the HD feed, the obs for Atlanta showed a Lightning icon (Thunderstorm), but the text said Partly Cloudy.
