Hmm, that's interesting. It's odd to think they would show something like this and have a LT8s video on twcmediakit.com if that's not even the "concept" they're going to use.

Its not too odd when you think about it. These images were released around the HD launch. TWC wanted something to show off to cable companies and presenting their case for people to want TWC HD and increase their product image. The graphics in their twcmediakit never were made on an actual star unit.

Too bad they didn't use them, they were MUCH better than what they decided to use imo.

This song sounds like it has Dave Koz in the background though knowing his sax style. Someone please correct me if I am incorrect. I don't remember how the original Swing Shift on TWC sounded like.

The idea of a cost-cutting measure, 4 Day School Weeks, have been implemented for many school district nationwide. This idea has had mixed reviews saying that for one it helps the kids rest more and for others saying it makes our kids dumber in a nation "already falling behind math and science". What do you guys think of this?

I know they have been testing this in some GA counties including Peach CO. which they mentioned in that article, I heard attendance and academics has actually improved. When it comes to how the economic state of this country is, I would rather have 4 days of school and cope with larger classes and longer school hours than to have boatloads of teachers being laid off to save money. It's one county not far from me laying off nearly 800 school employees, that's very ridiculous. The worse Atlanta's school system is getting is teacher furlough days w/ noone getting laid off so far.

I can't wait to view the HD STAR hopefully as soon as this weekend once my HDTV cable is switched out for a SD one since my HDTV is messed up.

I think dust has hindered it's development temporarily while coming off the W. African coast, but it might be heading into more favorable area since the dust is not that big of a deal that far out.

Our Weatherscan was just rebroadcasting TWC all day.....so we had 3 TWC channels, HD, SD, and WxScan SD.

That's odd, I didn't know they were capable of overriding Weatherscan's feed with TWC's feed.

Why is that so shocking to you? I thought June was the start of hurricane season.

Because it's unusual for tropical waves to be coming off the coast of Africa in June, it's more typical from mid July onward.
