Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC Poll
« on: June 12, 2010, 10:47:10 AM »
I give it a 5, being generous, if I wasn't able to overlook the reasons I'm able to explain now I would have easily said a 2 or 3. I'm able to let certain things past over me that I don't like such as WUWA  existing (which should be called "Wake Up With Whoever the Hell Shows Up That Day"), the unnecessary number of layoffs and trying to cover it up by hiring newer, cheaper, inexperienced OCMs *coughing* Uhhh Todd Santos, and when they falsely call themselves "The Severe Weather Authority" and they're showing 6 hours of s*** long form programming instead. Overall like I said before I just don't watch or pay attention if I'm bothered by something that I dislike. It's ironic, I wish we could go back 5 years back then when I THOUGHT TWC was really going downhill. Oh boy how I was wrong on that. :hmm: Oh well there's still some things TWC hasn't screwed up yet and that's Hurricane Coverage even during last year's dull season I was surprised they did live coverage from FL during TS Claudette and coverage during Hurricane Ida (Nor'Ida), the bi/tri-monthly playlists don't bother me regardless if they're good or not, that's the way the format was prior to 2000 and some longer than that. I still enjoy seeing certain OCMs whenever I do bother to watch, and the format of them being more newsy doesn't get to me as much anymore except when they purposely drag on and on with the same old info I heard about 4 hours before when I watched then. So to wrap up this lengthy rant, I'm basically on the fence. I don't like the direction TWC is going, but the same can be said for half the networks on television now. It's usually when network execs want to recreate a network that's evolved around one thing for years that the network sinks or starts jumping the shark and unfortunately TWC is a victim of that like any others.

I wish I had Heart of Gold by Yvonne Ayers
I HATE that song. As far as I know, I only have one recording of it.
"Mahogany" by lao Tizer gets me the most. I have 3 recordings of that song and none of "Heart of Gold" by Yvonne Ayers.

Hmm, that's the song I actually can't stand.  :P H.O.G is a good song imo.

I saw her today and she wasn't wearing glasses, in fact, I don't think I've seen her wearing glasses since the day I started this thread.

It seems long form is preempted today.

I assume it's to cover the ravaged areas of Arkansas?
Didn't quite hear because I was away from the TV then I had to go and just had TWC on at the time. :hmm:

Yes, it was because of the deadly flooding in AR.

I like the new theme, I'm using it right now.

We still have it here as a digital and analog station, but it's dubbed as "NBC Weather". I hated this channel it was always wrong in it's forecasts and still is now.  :rofl2:

Would anyone happen to know why Malcolm in the Middle is playing in Spanish on Nick at Nite?  :dunno:

EDIT: Hmm, it's definitely something on their end, their commercials were mute earlier.

Everything Else TWC / Re: Has TWC lost its way?
« on: June 06, 2010, 04:41:34 PM »
They hardly cover stuff on the west coast and seem to try to always avoid Florida. So I'm with you Matt on evening preemtions.

You're just figuring out how bias TWC is to certain areas? If this tornado outbreak last night had of been happening in Georgia and not over the MW, they wouldn't dare show long form programming.

I never watched TWC when there's a tornado outbreak in my area, I watch my local ABC affiliate mainly because even when TWC did or does severe wx coverage they are covering the whole region or regions affected as they should be, but when your really worrying about what's happening in your neck of the woods and not two or three states away, it's no point in watching them anyway, but I can understand your frustration.

Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Central 2010

Your right, it doesn't look very impressive except for the QPFs which increased on the 18z run, but the low is weaker and it's 2 days faster.
