Hurricane Central / Re: Invest93L- Code tangerine!
« on: June 21, 2010, 10:33:43 PM »
NHC has just upgraded this invest up to a 50% chance of development in the next 48 hours. Were on the verge of Code Red with this thing!  :D

1. A VIGOROUS TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED FROM EASTERN HISPANIOLA SOUTHWARD
OVER THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN SEA IS PRODUCING WIDESPREAD CLOUDINESS
AND SHOWERS ACROSS MUCH OF THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA...
HISPANIOLA...PUERTO RICO...AND NORTHERN VENEZUELA. THIS DISTURBANCE
CONTINUES TO SHOW SIGNS OF INCREASED ORGANIZATION
...AND UPPER-LEVEL
WINDS ARE CONDUCIVE FOR A TROPICAL DEPRESSION TO FORM DURING THE
NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
THIS WEATHER SYSTEM COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY
HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS OVER PORTIONS OF PUERTO RICO...THE
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC...HAITI...AND THE NETHERLANDS ANTILLES DURING THE
NEXT DAY OR SO AS THE SYSTEM MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15
MPH. THERE IS A MEDIUM CHANCE...50 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM
BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

Good posts :) Just FYI when a storm gets a classification ie. 92L, etc. You are welcome to start a new thread

If the Invest gets upgraded to a tropical storm, do we just change the thread title or start a new one?

General Weather Chat / Re: Poll: Spring 2010 Severe Weather Activity
« on: June 21, 2010, 04:29:19 PM »
It's been about average, not really that active as 2008 and 2009 was, but I think that was partly due to the moderate La Nina then and we still had an El Nino around while our Severe Weather season which usually results in an active season, but since it was waning, I guess that could be why it wasn't that active.

EDIT: Surprisingly no Tornado Warnings were issued for my area this year, which is odd since it was a completely different story last year and 2008.

0z ECM shows a storm approaching the Gulf Coast around July 1st w/ a pressure of 950mb! IIRC that's a strong Cat. 3 borderline weak Cat. 4

The two "fantasyland" wind speed models that are even looking at this storm are showing it developing into at least a strong category 2 hurricane within 108 hours. This could be a really nice storm...tropical season is coming in with a bang, I guess? :P

NHC just upped Invest93L to code orange (30%) It looks like it's getting healthier.

Has the audio on anyone else's IntelliStar been dropping in and out? Mine has been today and a couple of times before today recently.

I can confirm this song is not Bay City by Patrick Yandall. And I sampled the David Benoit songs from the new album and it's not it either.
June/July 2010 Daytime 8

It's a good song though. Maybe TWC will correct the error

This song sounds like something Ursula Suzana Pacheco (sp?) would make if you ask me, but I'm probably wrong.

Just woke up from a nap. Man I've been too sleepy since school let out.

I know what you mean!! Ive been taking long naps randomly each day haha

I tend to sleep until 12 PM now that school is out... wonder why that is :bleh:

I just woke up from a 4 1/2 hour nap and I still feel somewhat tired.  :P
 got bored

Wouldn't that be a sight to see.  :P Speaking of Cartoon Network, I see they have a new logo. It's not too much different from the last except it's more 2D instead of 3D.

Here's a clip I recorded during severe weather today when there was virtually NO chance of rain, don't ya just love unpredictable weather? :P This playlist started at the right time. I don't know the name of this song, but whatever the name is, you can't get any more smoother than that when it comes to smooth jazz, it's now my favorite song from the daytime list w/ Steve Oliver's "Bay City" coming in second.  I also caught "Sunlight Within" by S.O, but I'll upload that later or tomorrow.

That's the only daytime song I needed to record but couldn't because my parents were hogging the TV for the entire morning. Anyways that's "Winding Down" by Josh Harris available as Night Wind from the album Cool Water Slow

Josh Harris huh? I wouldn't have guessed that, it sounds so different from "Swedish Summer Song". I like that it also has a R&B style to it too. Thanks for IDing it for me.  :)

Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC Poll
« on: June 19, 2010, 01:43:50 PM »
I agree with Stephen about the YWT graphics, they are HORRIBLE. Who wants to see all that bloody red for a morning show? Plus the opening music sucks and it may be me, but it seems to change a lot and it's hard for me to even hear it sometimes.

It debuted during VORTEX 2 last year.
It did? I've only seen it since like March of this year.

Yeah, it did. You really didn't know that?

I agree with Martin, I'm in between. It's not the best by a long shot and it's not the worst either. Although it's mostly recycled songs, I like this Primetime playlist better than the last, I only liked about 2 or 3 songs from that one and there's a few less repeats overall too. I kinda wish they played "Let It Rain" by Eric Clapton instead of Layla though.
