Haha, the 12z GFS wants Savannah,GA to get with a Cat 1 hurricane between the 28th - 30th this month. This would make the Farmer's Almanac accurate about their prediction of a hurricane threat within the latter part of this month. I love that the models are showing these hurricane possibilities it's really getting me pumped up!

16th-19th. Thunderstorms Tennessee east to Carolinas, then clearing.
20th-23rd. Scattered thunderstorms.
24th-27th. Hurricane threat.
28th-31st. Scattered thunderstorms.

It has only a 10% chance (code yellow) of development right now, but it's looking quite well to me now. I don't want to jump the gun again and say this will be Danielle after what happened with TD #5 twice, I thought that thing was at least going to get up to 40mph so it could be classified a tropical storm.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, but I don't think there would be enough time to put something like that into a local forecast, the IntelliStar is crammed with products as it is. Sometimes there's not enough time to read everything because so much has to be showed in a certain number of seconds. If they still had a J Flavor though...

EDIT: I guess showing something like that during a Flood Watch would be the best time to show it, it shouldn't be shown on a regular basis imo.

Does anyone have a video of the logo changing? I realize that they could have changed it during a commercial on the TWC feed, but I mean like on Weatherscan.

I don't think the Weatherscan changed on August 15th; IIRC it remained with the old logo until late September '05 when it received its current graphics.

But here's a video from just before First Outlook on August 15th '05, featuring the last LF opener with the old TWC logo and the first few minutes of First Outlook with the new logo.

The STARs weren't updated until later that morning.

It's interesting that a lot of the updates for the IntelliStar and on-air happened during the day instead of mostly overnight like a lot of the recent updates have. For example the IntelliStar graphically updating overnight back in October 2007, but the HD transition is sort of a outliner to this since it happened gradually over a course of months.

They shift OCMs around like it's musical chairs. There's no stability on any show either one or both co hosts are filling in for someone or their on vacation, or they are just there because they have no show to host. (Sam, Jeff, etc.) It's gonna be even worse come the time TWC does ever go into Storm Alert for a major hurricane since the pairings are usually random.

It's been well over a month... When is she supposed to premiere on the network, if at all? Or was she let go without our knowledge? I was hearing that she was supposed to become Kelly's permanent co-host on Weekend View...

I don't really see why they had to go out of their way to hire a new co-host for Kelly, they could have just made Maria her permanent co host since she's already there with her on WV.

The heat continues.  Evansville, IN broke a record today, with a high of 99.  Old record was 97, in 2007.   

2007 was a very hot summer, all of our record highs this week have been from that year.

The WeatherStar4000, I love the color scheme and the icons, it felt very high tech for it's time. I wish we still had one. The XL is a close second. (particularly version 1)

What if Weatherscan was released in HD? Here's my idea of how it would look. (I did get some inspiration for the color schemes from the HD IntelliStar)
