I honestly don't get what the hype is with Christmas music on TWC..it's just music

Shouldn't you be saying the same thing about the regular playlists that change and seem to hype up a lot of you? Christmas music is special because it's only going to play during one time of the year and it does happen to put some people into the holiday spirit including me, I'm not as easily dissuaded from hearing it play for more than a week.

Seems to be the start of those programming changes again

Also i went all the way through the guide and i saw a purple highlight (movie) @ 8-10pm EST on 11/26 with an encore @ 11pm - 1am EST

if it is indeed a movie TWC has decided to bring movies back
most likely only for the Thanksgiving holiday, like last year, so that the OCMs can be with their families maybe? god, you're so overreactive.

They don't have to show a movie just to do that, they can show long form programming like they always do, long form serves the same purpose.
if a movie is just replacing long form (and not replacing weather coverage) I don't have a problem with it. Showing the same old long form over and over and over again is boring

They show the same episodes of shows over and over again, Just now that same SS episode about the Georgia Flooding I know just came on a few days ago at the same time it did before. If they're doing that already without any complaints I doubt anyone will notice (except you).  :P

The majority, if not all of his songs can be listened to here as well. If you sort the list by name, Wait A Minute is on page 6.

Has google always had a preview of the webpage show up when you click a search result? I never noticed it before
Thats been around for about 2 months.. i hate it <_<
Its funny how I just noticed it! I guess I never clicked in those areas before.
He's already about a good million viewers ahead of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, I actually read an article last night on Yahoo! that talked about how The Daily Show would be duking it out with Conan for ratings now that Jon Stewart has competition.
Well first showings are always extremely high. If he can maintain a lead over Stewart in a month then that is awesome. The more competition the better! Stewart has been a bit dry lately

Well the extensive advertising paid off on that too, WUWA is a perfect example of that. *cough* *cough*  :whistling:

The more I think about it the worse I feel about the time slot. Most young viewers during that time watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Show and older viewers watch local news. I cant see many young viewers switching to watch Conan.
4.2 million viewers, median age 30.  For reference, it beat out Stewart, Colbert, Leno, Letterman, and even out-viewed all of NBC primetime on Monday.

Advertisers have to be drooling over this.

I will be curious to see how those numbers hold up. Thats nice strong start!

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Re: Alexandra Steele Let Go
« on: November 09, 2010, 05:09:09 PM »
i'm still not convinced that she is gone. 1) we don't have a reliable source that can disclose such information, 2) Cantore and Steele on facebook is still being updated (which makes no sense, why continue to name the page after a meteorologist whom is no longer on the network, when you can simply rename it), 3) her bio is still on weather.com...most meteorologist "let go" or "fired" are usually taken off the weather.com website immediately.

as for most of the responses "the bios don't come off right away" i call bull on that, there is no way of telling.

Maybe for some OCMs, but not all, I stated this in the Betty Davis thread, but her bio was still up last month, 3 months after she left in July and she was let go/contract not renewed and it's still up as of today.

November Update
I used the XL background for the banner and made it darker and added a bevel shape to it. I also added shadowing along with the other blue templates where slightly more transparency was also added since I last worked on this AE project in August. Shadowing still needs to be added to text and also the interstate map for the radar will be tweaked.

EDIT: Due to copyright infringement with WMG, I had to reupload this video with a different song, it's been replaced with "The Gift" by 3rd Force which played in the November 2000 playlist during the prime years of this version of the XL.

OMG, "Conan" airs in about 40 minutes. GO TEAM COCO!
I am curious how well he will do on TBS. I think they have pushed the marketing a bit to far with the Coco thing. It was cool when when it started but now I find it annoying. Perhaps thats just me :/

He'll probably do pretty well. I've never looked at George Lopez's late night show, but from what I've heard his ratings have been good and he's been on there a year already. It doesn't even feel like it's been that long. I wonder how he's going to do now that Conan will have his 11pm timeslot.

« on: November 08, 2010, 08:57:58 PM »
I'm glad the October list is back, I didn't like the August playlist that much the first time around and as Christina said a lot of the songs are more fit for summertime than fall.

Yeah, especially the Bickely Rivera songs.

I would have rather heard the June/July list eventhough those songs are summer like too, I liked that selection better.

Ouch. I just looked up the dates; break begins the 17th and ends the 4th.

That's the same length of my Winter Break. Our Thanksgiving Break goes from the 24th - 29th. I always disliked the way the Thanksgiving Break is set up, We have school Monday and Tuesday then were out until Next Monday. We might as well be out the whole week.

Averaging around $2.60 - $2.90. I haven't seen it spike above $3 in a while now.

However long the list runs this year, I hope they revisit using some songs that played from 2001 - 2004, particularly from Ottmar Liebert. "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" was a pretty good one. Those were the best Christmas playlists from this past decade/century.
