It's getting very icy down here quickly, there was a lot of sleet accumulating on the walkway to my house when I came home from school. One of the on air traffic guys at our ABC news affiliate said while driving through downtown Atlanta his back tires slid 3 or 4 times and he was only 5 minutes away from the studio. The NWS also extended the Winter Weather Advisory to our area from now until 7am.

32° sleet in Atlanta, reports of snow/sleet at Hartsfield-Jackson Int'l Airport with 3 hour delays because of deicing! Oh boy!

The weather conditions I experienced this morning while launching a balloon are given in my latest post within the current weather topic if you dare to look.Hey, it's cold here too. Now 17, Low of 7, and I woke this morning to a temp of 1.
Yeah, very cold for December. We dipped down to 14 breaking a record low of 15 set back in 1917.

This is going to be an interesting week for me, there's a chance of a wintry mix midweek. I'm getting excited, but I'm not excited about the potential for ice although were overdue, we haven't had a icestorm event since January 2005. Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever seen us under a Icestorm Watch/Warning during an icestorm before either... 
I hope the models start showing the disturbance shifting south so there's less chance of a changeover to rain that Thursday. So far the forecasts are for snow/mix Wed, to mix Wed. Night to rain Thursday.

TWC's HiRAD technology is a FAIL once again. I almost have a dusting of snow on the ground and they're reporting Cloudy skies. It's been snowing for the past two hours!

Just to do something different, I'm thinking of doing a timelapse video of the storm moving across the country now using the IntelliStar similar to the video below except it'll include local/regional obs and the radar and that's it so each forecast clip wouldn't be any longer than maybe 40 secs. It's also only going to include conditions that are updated so it won't be every forecast from now until tomorrow night, I'm not that crazy. 
This video would only be to show the storm evolving over our region the next 24 hours. Would anyone be interested in seeing it if I do it?

Weird. It doesn't do that for me.
Maybe it has something to do with the internet browser, I'm using Google Chrome.

48° cloudy, it actually dropped from 49° which we stalled at for about 2 hours. Those clouds must be thicker than I thought.
