Blizzard Cancel

No surprise, the EURO was the outliner, no other model was showing close to what it was showing. I hope I can still see a little snow out of this, I'm not greedy I'll take what I can get at this point. I was really looking forward to having my first White Christmas here in A-Town, I might not be alive to witness something like this happen again we've had a 128 year stretch since the last one. I don't think my organs can keep pumping for that long number of years for another one.  :P

The December list I guess, in retrospect all the playlists this year were mediocre.

This is probably a long shot, but does anybody think they will do live wx updates on Christmas Eve or preempt some of that long form programming for this upcoming Christmas storm if it turns out to be as potent as it's showing up on the European model?

It's looking more and more likely Atlanta will right now, but I think Judgement Day will be Christmas Eve once this storm is in the MS River Valley regardless of what the models come to agreement on. If the Euro and Nam are correct it should be beginning to phase at that point.
Latest NAM isn't closing off the low early on. Not a good sign. GFS just never phases the storm so thats just stupid. I think it may be very close. The soundings keep things warm in Atlanta for quite a while.

I didn't see the 12z NAM until after you posted this, but I the NAM is notorious for being wacky like the GFS in it's long range, I wouldn't be concerned with it unless it was under 48 hrs. I don't wanna come off as being bias to the EURO just because of what it's showing, but it's been the most consistent so far with the track and phasing. I just hope it stands it's ground from here on out and the others will catch on as we get through the next few days.

I hope Team EURO is right about this, it helps that the NAM is joining an alliance with the EURO, the GFS and Canadian however are still kinda out to lunch, the former more than the latter. But I think they'll get it together by the 0z runs tonight since the s/w (shortwave) will be on land in Southern California by then and we'll have more reliable data to feed from.  I don't know about you guys, but Atlanta hasn't had a White Christmas since 1881! This is the closest I have in all my 18 years of living here to getting one. It would make Christmas feel that much more special to me.

EDIT: Mike Bettes is going to be talking about our last White Christmas in a few, he gave the perfect hint too, "Noone on the planet right now was alive".

Why did you just open a thread focusing on only the NE? The entire east coast from GA to MA has a chance of seeing white come Christmas and afterwards. Especially if the EURO has it's way.

Also that accuweather storm map is BS. Most models have shifted well SOUTH of the track shown there. They're just being bias to the MidAtl. HPC contradicts that track.

I'm waiting on filedropper to finish processing a link, my video would have been up an hour ago, but my internet connection went down while the attachment was uploading the video file to the forums.

Danielle is a good weather presenter, but anyone notices that she has a habit of rocking back and forth towards and away from the camera when she's standing in front of the green screen?

So, yesterday, the Tropical Update began showing again for Omeka....
That's surprising.  It poses no threat to Hawaii.  It's certainly a noteworthy tropical storm, but I don't know why they had to dig out the Tropical Update just for it when there are a lot of winter weather issues ahead for the rest of the country.

I wish they hadn't of gotten rid of Storm Watch, that's what they would be focusing on storm systems in the US while Hurricane Season was over.
