It makes absolutely no sense that they used that song on a Christmas list, it's obvious it's not one.

92 F P Cloudy Heat Index: 98 F

Also, I posted the map of Watches, Warnings, and Advisories because there is such a large swath of them pertaining to heat. The counties in GA (Including Atlanta) were just issued within the past hour.

Sorry for the double post but....

Just now on DP:

Jeff Morrow: "And the things that are already hot are just getting hotter, and no, I'm not talking about Vivian!" :P

Heh, Viv pulled a similar line on Sam last week. I don't remember it word from word, but it was something like, "Sam you're not only hot, you're cool too." Yeah, as if that's the first time she's heard something like that at the type of place she works.  :P

Best
Morning: 3 Way Tie (Paul Taylor - Horizon/Moment of Truth, and Ryan Farish - Sweet Melody)
Daytime: Stanley Turrentine - Side Steppin'
Primetime: Lab Partners - Back's to the Wall
Overnight: Stanton Lanier - Solitude

Worst
Morning: Boney James - Here She Comes (not a bad song though just not the best)
Daytime: Craig Chaquico - Tribal Runner & Matthew Shuman - Chasin' In The Wind (Eh, not feelin' it, I also agree the latter should play in the overnight instead.)
Primetime: Maserati - No More Sages (I always hated this song the first time around)
Overnight: Not sure yet, I haven't heard them all.

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: July 09, 2011, 02:29:00 PM »
On the :48 LF, the IS read the Weather Bulletin screen as 'The NWS has issued a weather bulletin'.

On the :58 LF, the IS read it as 'A Heat Advisory and an Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for our area'.

What is the difference, and why is it alternating?

For time most likely, like sometimes if the text forecast is long to save time it won't read things like the wind speeds or it will read a more simplified phase.

EDIT: Also the phase you said was used at :48 is used more often if you have more than 2 weather bulletins from what I've noticed.

My area is still a . so i'm not able to see it.

I'm not sure if you've seen it by now, but here's how it looks. It's at the very beginning.

Did anyone have any IS cueing issues as of 11:18 AM ET? I noticed that it's 11:20 AM ET and commercials are still running on DirecTV.

I think they purposely did that so they could cover the final space shuttle launch.

General Discussion / Re: Casey Anthony trial and verdict
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:09:28 PM »
I just recently found out about it a few weeks ago. While I think she was guilty of the murder, I have to agree with the jury's verdict to not convict her without indisputable proof. I still don't know the whole story, and I don't think I ever will.

I agree, I thought she was guilty, but since there wasn't enough evidence per-say, they felt there was enough reasonable doubt to say she was innocent.

Side Steppin by Stanley Turrentine played at 4:58 this morning

One of my favorites from the May 2008 list.

It's playing right now on the daytime list also.

Anybody ever watched "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction"? Here's a segment from an episode in the 2002 season about a SoCal weatherman who lets loose with his own predictions after slumping ratings. Although this story is (Spoiler Alert!!) Fictional, if Kevin Martin's forecasting methods keep up, it might slowly turn into Fact.

BBFF - The Weatherman

He did have a point though. They live in So. Cal, how exciting can the weather be if most of the time it is sunny and warm? Also I know the person playing that reporter near the end, she happened to be a local weathergirl at our CBS station and left last year and moved to California!  :P There was plenty of irony in that video.

They are playing a lot of throwback songs, like the Boney James one that just played a couple of minutes ago. I remember it from years ago.

EDIT: That's the name of it, "See What I'm Sayin'"

While I couldn't sleep last night, I heard an overnight song that sounded like it could be from Paul Tegel.

Brian Hughes huh...That's great to hear. From what I can tell so far this playlist might be good even with Layla. I've accepted that song as being a bi-annual tradition (with the exception of 2010 since it aired then also.) What's more odd is it keeps playing in July.

RPM by Boney James at :58  (from 9/08)

Wow! It is about time they played upbeat Boney James songs like that.  It was getting boring with all these slow, sleepy Boney James songs.  ;)

I gotta agree with ya there. These slow songs of his were getting a little tiresome.

Rattle and Burn at 9:28 PM EDT.

Rattle and Burn at night?
