I think that's an interesting feature. It makes me think of it as a weather bulletin, but instead of being alerted on an issued watch/warning/advisory, you're being warned on specific upcoming severe weather.

Anyone remember that kid Alex Forbes that was TWC last year? I ran across this video today where he visited and did a webcast forecast for our CBS affiliate WGCL-TV

24 Hours ago this tropical wave was on life support, only had a 0% chance of development. Now it's back up to 30%. It's possible we could have a TD or even Don by tomorrow if it continues to organize as well as it has today. It's heading into a very favorable environment and as it stands right now could bring welcome rainfall to Texas by this weekend. :D

Quote
1. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE OVER THE
NORTHWESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA HAVE BECOME A LITTLE BETTER ORGANIZED A
COUPLE OF HUNDRED MILES SOUTH OF WESTERN CUBA.
  HOWEVER...THE
SYSTEM DOES NOT HAVE A CLOSED CIRCULATION AT THIS TIME.  ADDITIONAL
SLOW DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT COUPLE
OF DAYS AS IT MOVES TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST AT NEAR 15 MPH.
  THIS
SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM CHANCE...30 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL
CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

For the last time, no new graphics any time soon.

Personally, I think it's pretty ugly, especially on the SD STAR.

It's definitely ugly on the SD IS, but the HD one is not that bad because there was space for it. It looks cluttered on the SD IS.

I think I know what "change" you're talking about. It totally caught me off guard.

Hmm...something I would disapprove of seeing on the IntelliStar...could it be the traffic products returning?

The only changes I've noticed on the IntelliStar here is that some of the products have been moved around. Like for example the metro map  for CC is shown before the 8 city observations now.

What a shame, I wish her the best in finding something else soon. Ironically enough, the chief meteorologist Paul Ossmann from the same station also didn't have his contract renewed. His last day was Friday, he's being replaced by some guy named Mike Francis from Little Rock. (Looks like a Jim Cantore wannabee)

Want more irony? I just recorded this a few hours ago, but I wasn't aware she was leaving. I almost didn't, but I figured I don't she her that much as it is so why not so this will be the last clip I guess.

It's just one run, but the 0z NAM computer model shows the current tropical wave w/ 10% of development approaching the GOM as a tropical storm at a pressure of 1003 mb at hr 84. If the run went out any further, I would assume it would take it onshore somewhere on the LA shore.

This clip is actually from WeatherCenter, but I thought it was worth the post. It gave me a good chuckle.  :P

Stephanie gets a little out of hand talking about the ingredients for the next storm system and Mike has to "calm her down". She apologizes, but she totally screws up Mike's train of thought in the process.

In her defense, Mike got her started, he should have known better. lol

Very tragic, but I'm not shocked. She never got the proper help she needed to get better. :(
