I've had my second Dell desktop computer since January 2011, it's going on nearly 7 years. Since my birthday is coming up next week on Black Friday I decided it was definitely time to invest in a new desktop.
I got this one, it wasn't my first choice or my second. In fact, I considered Microsoft Surface Studio or even joining the dark side and getting a Mac! lol j/k In the end the one I picked felt like the right one for me.
Dell Inspiron 5000 24 inch Touch All in One Desktop (Intel Version; There's an AMD version as well)

...TROPICAL STORM WATCH IN EFFECT...
Sustained winds of 40mph Gusts as high as 65mph! Widespread power outages expected
Never in my nearly 25 years of being born/living in Atlanta have I ever seen Atlanta under a Tropical Storm Watch for an approaching hurricane. This is uncharted territory and shows that Irma means business.
We’re making history once again. For the second time in a month, we are under a Tropical Storm Watch for Tropical Storm Nate.

« on: September 27, 2017, 03:05:21 PM »I don't get to create/post STAR emulations as much as I would like to, but I would like to try to do something a little different from now on. I'm going to share some base maps/templates for various STARs that can be used to help out those who may want to create and emulate on their own accord. I'll start off simple, I didn't create these maps, I downloaded them several years ago from a TWC directory or archive website I think. They also had to be cropped to remove the banners/TWC logo. These maps can be used as regional maps for the IntelliSTAR or even the WeatherSTAR XL v3 (2005-2014). Feel free to use these materials as you wish.Ha! I remember those base maps from I think Martin's web server several years ago. They were taken down right when I needed it a year ago and no one would budge to post it. Any way toxictwister00 I can recreate high quality versions of those maps if you want me to. I have several pieces of DEM and GIS software and can easily recreate them. If you look at my art work topic I recently recreated the DBS forecast maps used from 2004-2011. All I would need to do is change the RGB values in my software.
I'll post some templates for legacy STARs later.
Sure, go for it!
Btw, your artwork is phenomenal. Definitely some of the best I've seen in my 10 years on this forum community. I don't know if you are considering going into graphic design, but I would encourage you to do it, you have impressive skills.
What application will those templates work for?
Something as simple as Microsoft Powerpoint or more advanced as After Effects. I only use After Effects, but I would imagine any application that supports .png files will work just fine.

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Topic
« on: September 25, 2017, 10:25:50 PM »Guess we can keep piling it on - apparently ALL remaining Xfinity headends that still carry Weatherscan are dropping it on Nov. 6th. Saw some, *ahem*, rather colorful posts on Xfinity's Facebook page and forum about it.
Still going with my theory that it'll die off when other cable companies drop it, or when the IS units begin to croak. I highly doubt TWC's going to put in the effort to shut it down themselves.
If Local Now didn't exist, I would agree. Is there any possibility that service could replace Weatherscan? It's obviously not exactly the same, but I wouldn't be too surprised if that happened.

Hurricane Central / Re: Irma
« on: September 05, 2017, 04:08:02 PM »
Irma is now an extremely powerful Category 5 hurricane. It is now the second strongest hurricane on record (as far as wind speed goes) in the Atlantic Ocean with winds of 185mph and wind gusts that exceed 200mph! Hurricane Allen is #1 with max winds of 190mph at it's peak (1980).
Irma is also the strongest Atlantic hurricane east of 60W on record.
EDIT: I forgot however, Irma is actually the strongest Atlantic hurricane (winds and pressure) in a decade. (2007; Dean/Felix)
