Winter Weather / Re: Winter Storm Thread: 2011-12 Season
« on: January 15, 2012, 10:01:41 AM »
I know all winters are different, but I keep thinking about how 2/3rds of winter last year we were in an icebox, then February came and we got milder. This winter we have been and will be mild for 2/3rds of this winter, I think something has to give sooner rather than later. We've been stuck in this pattern since November, the rubber band has to snap. I believe if winter doesn't return when it should for the remainder of this winter, it will return when we don't want it to during Spring. I could end up being wrong, but I don't see us staying in this pattern all the way through Spring w/o something finally giving away.

This one isn't that challenging, but what the heck. This OCM is a huge college football fan. (I won't say what team because that would be way too obvious)

Is Linus & Lucy still ok to upload? I don't care if they tag the video with an ID, but is it still ok to put up w/o being muted? I don't want to waste my time putting it up if it will be because it's going to be together in a compilation of other LFs.

Gooding - Winter in Chicago at :38. Looks like yet another jazzless primetime playlist

Oh, I like Winter in Chicago so I'll be glad to hear that one again.

Seriously, what the hell is their obsession with that dang What I Got song by Sublime? Sheesh... <_< Is that like the only good song they've made or something?

EDIT: I don't think the Primetime needs to be jazzy, it should be more of a variety.

There was a nice song that played right before WUWA started this morning. (5:58am)

Revisions - L3rds by color theme
Burnt Orange or Red; can be used for severe weather events as well - Early Mornings (First Outlook/Your Weather Today/Weekend View)
Yellow/Orange - Late Mornings/Afternoons (Day Planner/Weekend Now)
Blue - Evenings/Overnight (WeatherCenter Live/PM Edition/Sunrise Weather)

The LDL is not exactly the way i would actually picture it, I just put something there to give you an "idea" of what it would be like along with the L3rds right above.

Also, there's no reason for this picture except to give me something to laugh at hilariously.

Its been a fine day here with the rain falling. Had a half day at school (12:30 Dismissal) and a trip to town for Lunch and to the DMV. I now have the next 5 Days off from school and I'm happy to have it. Anyone Jealous?

Let's just say I'm not that jealous because I've had a month of from school and am soooo bored right now.  I'm ready to go back!  (And no, don't call me weird. :P)

Oh I agreed with that logic last week, when we went back. Now I'm happy to have another break.

Alright WGN, get it together up there.  :rofl2:

I saw that on another forum, all I could think about was did they seriously not see anything wrong with that graphic after they finished it? :P

Thank you, I only did that because WRAL-TV is a NBC affiliate and they had the NBC logo next to their logo and I figured why not do the same here. It's gonna happen sooner or later, but then again I said the same thing about 3 years ago...so... :whistling: :P

L3rds based off of WRAL-TV's L3rds.

Sorry about the pictures not being that good, I just googled Heather Tesch and these were the best ones I could find. Also I think I should have shrunk the font on weather.com, but that's ok, it's just a rough draft.

The blue area is where the LDL would be.

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

Here's a great, clear example of TWC overhyping. Putting out a notice on severe wx when there is very little evidence showing up on models or the SPC for that matter on severe weather here.  With this feature being around about 6 months, I'm curious to know why no mets pulled the trigger before in the dozen of severe weather setups that were a heck of lot more ominous than this over the past 6 months. This is the very first time I have ever been under one of these alerts and I find that to be sad and ridiculous.

Dang, we just had some really fierce lightning and rumbles of thunder within the past 10 minutes.  I hope everyone is enjoying this Spring weather because I know were gonna pay for it sooner or later this winter or into this upcoming Spring. It just doesn't stay this balmy over such a large real estate of the US for an entire winter.

So much for that Arctic blast!  It's now 59°F and sunny.
Lol what arctic blast? Not one record low was broken.

50°F and Partly Cloudy

I never understood why every time we have an arctic blast or heat wave there's automatically supposed to be records broken.  :dunno: Can it just be cold or hot for a period of time?

Anyway, it's quite balmy today w/ temps around 66 under fair skies.
