Rough Drafts of Various Forecast Products for My LF Concept

NOTE: With this being considered a test video, I didn't bother to update any information in this video, the exception being the Dense Fog Advisory which was issued just before I rendered this video so that forecast product was very last minute.

Changes I made since the Pittsburgh, PA LF video I did of the same design (see video response for that video if you want to compare differences.)

- Removed some of the transparency from the middle part of the background so it shows up as a darker blue.

-Changed the city backdrop from Pittsburgh to Atlanta (pretty obvious change)

- LDL changed from white to light blue. In consequence, the font color for the ad crawl also changed from black to white. (This design of the LDL is experimental and is subject to change)

- the text "weather.com" added to the titlebar next to TWC's logo on some forecast products.

-New Forecast Products
Weather Bulletin (Rough Draft; city backdrop may be changed to a backdrop of a thunderstorm or some form of severe weather.)

Metro Conditions

Regional Conditions (This might change to "Southeast Observations or Conditions")

Radars (Under construction)

Air Quality (Subject to change to Health and Garden or Lifestyles Report)

Airport Delays (Subject to change to Airport Conditions)

Wow, I think they've covered this more than the Joplin and Tuscaloosa tornadoes! :P

I think after what did happen last year, TWC is going to go a little overboard with their coverage now so more people are away and the number of fatalities (hopefully) decrease. ;)

I don't think they're going overboard with it at all. It's not like they're in red mode right now where that's the only focus today, they are still doing business as usual with the weekly planner, focus forecasts, etc. On top of that, some of the same areas hit hard back in April last year were once again hit this morning so they shouldn't be ignoring this. I would bet they would get some backlash if they acted like nothing had happened.

If it hadn't of been for this cold wedge were in over here, I would have been slammed hard by those same storms that produced the tornadoes in AL.

Reports have been coming out that a community called Paradise City in Trussville, AL has been completely destroyed. Many people are trapped and hospitals/Emergency Management are going to their mass causalities plan.

Debris Ball heading toward Maplesville, AL. Not good, not good at all.  :(

Here comes two new warnings...

Regardless, the hail threat is just as bad right now.

Storm west of DeWitt, AR looks ugly.

EDIT: It's now moving NW of Dewitt, AR so it looks like they will avoid a direct hit.

This is interesting but I don't have a TV to watch the coverage. Is there anything online I can watch in regards to this outbreak?

Impressive for January, I wasn't expecting them to go that far with the tornado watches. New Meso discussion says tornado threat is increasing west of MEM. (Eastern AR)

EDIT: I was wondering if the PDS Tornado Watch was going to make Dr. Forbes increase his TOR CON numbers, looks like he's gone from a 6 to an 8 now.

Mike Seidel is here in Memphis, reporting on the storms. It's gonna get bad tonight.

Stay safe and alert, it looks to get nasty pretty rapidly within the next couple of hours.

The saving graces I see for my neck of the woods is that most of the activity will be coming in overnight into the early morning hours and right now were stuck in a cold wedge. It's expected to break, but i don't know if it will break in time to destabilize conditions here for severe weather overnight tonight into Monday morning.

People don't pay attention to their plans and their history. All they care is that it's on their political party.
Agreed. I listen to a lot of talk radio, and in turn, hear from voters of my party. It's really frustrating to hear them endorse Newt Gingrich. Out of all the candidates, Newt is the closest to Obama as far as policies go. Which begs the question, if it's not Obama's policies you're against, then what is it? Even more frustrating is when his supporters cheered him on when he refused to answer questions about one of his affairs. I thought we were the party of morals? :hmm:

It's sad how badly our government is being run right now. I'm personally sick of my particular congressman, and I'm not thrilled with the new Republican nominees either. It's up to the voters, and unfortunately, as Matt said, the average voter knows very little about their own congressmen or government.
And it's easier now more than ever to keep up with your congressmen and senators. Many have an email newsletter. You can also sign up at Congress.org to get updates on legislation, and how your congressmen and senators voted. I'm not so crazy about my congressman either. He's okay, but could be better. My Democrat senator is retiring (thank God - he was one of the deciding votes on Obamacare) and my Republican one is awesome.

His 15 minutes of fame will end soon, I think he'll be next to wave the white flag.

I can NOT wait! I love severe weather. I hope we have just as many EF5s and tornado outbreaks like last year, however I do not want to see the fatalities or excessive damage. I hope last year's events serves as a warning and reminder for people to take these storms more seriously.

For one, in my college severe storm preparedness is never talked about. For a university with 40,000 kids, we lack a PA system and are dependent on email to alert students. If a tornado or something were to strike here (my psych professor said this during lecture last year), we'd be in serious trouble because of lack of warnings. It doesn't help having large windows in every classroom building either. :/

Although I understand where you're coming from here, I don't want anything similar to what happened last Spring to happen again, my hope is that will be once in a lifetime event. I would hate for 2012 to get off to a faster pace than 2011 on tornadoes not even being a full month into the year.

Expect a tornado watch to be issued just west of the moderate risk zone by 6 PM CST as the approaching cold front triggers these storms. Supercells initially, and a squall line later in the evening. The fact that this is an overnight threat is particularly dangerous. Stay safe for those of you out in that region.

By the way, Tavores, what song is that?

Easy title to remember, it's "3rd Force" by 3rd Force.
