Dean Rough Draft Sketch
Age 13
DOB: November 1998 (As of 2011)
I know the shoes look weird, but as I mentioned before I'm not the best drawer and it's hard for me to try and draw in great detail that small. If it's hard to tell they are supposed to be Nike's. I'll probably change em to a different brand of shoes in my final draft. (Perferably something more simplistic for me to draw that's recognizable.

Thanks for the link!Me too! I miss seeing Paul Goodloe doing the primetime slot (formerly EE). He should definitely be on more often; is he just a freelancer now?
If he's not, it sure seems like it as of late...
I still miss A&B having their old show, it was so unique and different from the others. It lost it's spark once the HD transition began. (sigh)

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Best OCM Currently
« on: January 27, 2012, 09:03:54 PM »I voted for Cantore, Forbes, Goodloe, Walker, and Knabb. Jim for obvious reasons, Forbes and Knabb just do to their expertise, and their sense of humor (Knabb dancing on a desk, anyone?) I wish Goodloe was on more, and I personally enjoy watching Nick Walker on the afternoons.
And I wish we did past OCMs, but I have to say I really liked Marshall Seese. It's a shame he left TWC, but I regard him as the "TWC Morning King."
He danced on a desk? I would love to have seen that! He does have a good sense of humor, I noticed that quite a bit last hurricane season when he was on during YWT.
Well at least Marshall left on his own terms just like Sharon Resultan. I think if Marshall had of stuck around they probably would have shown him the door like they did Bill and Mark and so many others wrongfully.

Jim Cantore of course! I don't even need to explain why.
- Dr. Rick Knabb - Seemed kinda stiff at first, but he really grew on me especially after Hurricane Irene, he did a fantastic job doing PBP on that hurricane.
- Danielle Banks, she's always comes off as bright and cheerful. She reminds me a lot of the former chief met that was at WGCL-TV here Dagmar Midcap.
Also I love her Southern charm (at least I think she's Southern...
)
Carl Parker - Hey, he's becoming our next Jim Cantore/Dr. Greg Forbes hybrid child, he's great!
Vivian Brown - "Were All Together In Weather!" Any OCM who lives by that motto is a fan favorite by me.

I used this song in a recent video of mine and now I really can't get it out of my head!

Yeah, I've only seen it during :28/:58 of the hour and even then it seems kinda random. I'm assuming it's shown more frequently at those times when there is not a large scale event taking place like severe weather or wintry weather so there's less priority for forecast products like the radar or the weather bulletin to consume time. I'm just spitballin' this so don't take what I said for certain. I thought there was one time I saw it show up recently on a K flavor, but I can't say for sure.

« on: January 26, 2012, 05:42:10 PM »Or maybe ppl were complaining about the rock music so they are using the LBar as a means of showing fewer full screen lfs and in turn, fewer opportunities to notice the music change
I really think it's just so when they have extended coverage, they can save time by having shorter forecasts and more airtime. At this point I don't care about them having the sqeezeback cut back on LFs. I don't watch TWC that much nowadays anyway except at times when they bother to give a damn about doing severe weather coverage.
Today can be an exception since there aren't any warnings out and haven't been for a while.

Yep, but that's about it and modified some of the forecast products and fonts.

I'm curious as to why putting something that minor as an ad crawl in had to take several months, the other changes they made are so minor they aren't worth pointing out.

The "power" was more of a threat in the case that Congress still decides to be uncooperative and prevent anything from getting done this year. "Inches away from being a dictator?" Yes, we are so close to being just like North Korea.
Exactly. People are tired of the do-nothing Congress, and it is reflected in its barely double-digit approval rating. And ironically, part of the disapproval comes from many Republicans. As Pop Light Brown said, the GOP and Tea Party have been hoping and praying that our country fails under President Obama. McConnell and Boehner both said what their goal is. And if you're talking about dictatorship, how do you explain Newton wanting to put children to work as janitors, and Willard wanting houses to run its course and get foreclosed, then?
That was just as bad as his statement about Obama being the foodstamp president for blacks which bothered me no matter how much he tried to twist the words around to sound better than it did. I don't get why people are taking this guy seriously. I hate he won SC, that only fed into his ego and he's sure to win his homestate GA come Super Tuesday in March.

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: January 25, 2012, 05:22:03 PM »Why is TWC not pre-empting today? Is flooding and the possible severe weather for the south not important enough to be covered? Also, why is the "radiation storm" the top story on weather.com right now? How does that take predecence over the current weather?
One thing that really frustrates me about TWC is their inconsistency in coverage. How is this severe weather event less important than the one the other day? Is it just because it's not going to impact their headquarters in Atlanta or the high-populated northeast? Or maybe no tornadoes means less coverage? I'm sorry, but this really aggrivates me.If anyone can answer my questions, feel free!
Your answer lies right there, there were a lot of tornado warnings flying hot off the printer constantly from the Sunday/Monday event, actual tornadoes were being reported to be on the ground in places like AR and AL and add to that there a PDS Tornado Watch out across parts of the Midsouth.

« on: January 25, 2012, 10:42:14 AM »President Obama: "I call on every state to require that all students stay in high school until they graduate or turn 18."And just how do you propose to do that, Mr. President? Round them up?All in all, I thought it was a decent speech for Obama. He waited almost 40 minutes before he started misleading the public. When he makes all his grand promises, I can't help but hearing "which is why I'm proposing that the rich pay a little bit more, so that everyone can have a pony" or "which is why I want to close all oil companies and run our cars on skittles!"
I don't understand what is the strong resistance to wanting to research into using cleaner energy sources. Oil is not a renewable energy source no matter how many other places we choose to get them from, so once it's gone what are we gonna do then? I'm not saying we have to dive into the deep end on cleaner energy sources, but we should be gearing ourselves into that direction instead of relying on one resource to get us by.
