1. DISTURBED ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH A LARGE LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM LOCATED ABOUT 950 MILES WEST OF ALASKA
CONTINUES TO GRADUALLY BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO REMAIN CONDUCIVE FOR
DEVELOPMENT...AND THIS DISTURBANCE COULD BECOME A WINTER STORM
LATER TONIGHT OR ON WEDNESDAY. THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH
CHANCE...80 PERCENT...OF BECOMING WINTER STORM ATHENA DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES NORTHEASTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...WINTER STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

NOTE: This is a joke, I made it up given TWC's latest "buzzing" news.

80° Few Clouds. 1-2 inches of snow possible tomorrow night.

  Sounds like how so many of the snow events I've seen in the past start out here 24 hrs prior.

Very Fall Like today. Even with the occasional mix of sun within the thick clouds, we only managed to rise to 70 today. We are holding steady there now with a SW wind.

This link gives insight on the names.  Maybe I'm not giving TWC much credit, but I'm pretty sure a lot of these names are being used for pop culture references.

http://www.weather.com/news/winter-storm-names-20121001

If anyone were to do that, it would need to be the NWS or a similar agency. TWC fails again. *facepalm*

Also, I can't wait to see someone say "Winter Storm Magnus" or "Winter Storm Q" with a straight face :P

Slightly less humorous than using the name Trojan. :whistling: :P

"Morning Awakes" by Timothy Bright

I wonder about the criteria for it. It has to vary drastically by regions, a 1 footer in the Southeast would carry more merit for a name than a 1 footer in the Northeast would.

I kinda like the idea, (on the fence about how it can effectively work) but given how TWC has been now, I would feel more comfortable about this if they were working in conjunction with the HPC so it doesn't come off as being overly gloried and hyped which we know is one of the main motivators for this.

Also they put a lot of stake into talking about naming Snowstorms, what about Icestorms? I mean they mention ice being in the criteria in the article, but an icestorm by itself carries even more drastic effects to the population/property than snowstorms.

Wow, the more I think about this, the more it's starting to feel like a bad idea. More questions than answers coming up in my head. Best of luck to them on the concept though.

I always wondered about this. It's an interesting concept to me.

Ugh... Is the GFS ALREADY hinting the signs of ANOTHER October snow storm for the interior northeast? Last year when the GFS did that, looked what happened. This exactly what I didn't want. We probably won't get snow, but I definitely don't want the cold temps to arrive this fast.

There is one difference here however, were not in a La Nina pattern now like we were this time last year as a weak El Nino is still developing and should do so during the winter. Also didn't large portions of the Northeast see snow back in October 2009? I know PA did and look at how that 2009-10 winter turned out.

Season Three Episode 56: Home Alone (Or Not)
Episode Code - S35622

Episode Description: 4 different scenarios happen on the evening while Jason is on house arrest for mall vandalism and the rest of his family attends the movies to see "The Avengers".

Side note: I looked at my written script for this episode and the movie the family was originally going to see was "Iron Man 2"  so that would make this script about 2 years old and I'm just now typing it up. :P

One of the mets at AmericanWx mentioned this about Nadine, anybody think it will come close to this record? :dunno:

FTR, the longest lasting storm last decade... Hurricane Kyle (2002)... had 89 advisories issued on it.  We are at 64 with Nadine now.

I tweaked the colors of the background along with the blue template.
Introduced an incomplete rough draft of the TCF.
Added an ad crawl as a test.
The radar blinking the way it did was a result of something on intellicast.com's end with the .gif radar file.
TWC logos were made by number1TWCfan.

Color Revisons, Incomplete TCF, and Radar Glitch?
