OCMs & Personalities / Re: Should They Keep WUWAI Say NO!
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:30:33 PM »
I Don't understand getting rid of all these fabulous meteorologists but yet keeping Al just because he's connected with NBC, does anyone care for him being on TWC , Personally that's when the weather channel went downhill :nono:

I don't get the hate everyone has towards Al, i think that him being with NBC had anything to do with him appearing on TWC.

Also as said many times on this forum TWC is trying to expand their horizons into becoming more than the old channel most people used to be accustomed to. So the best thing is to move on from all the positives/negatives changes the network is done and worry about something else worth enjoying.

Hate is a strong word, I don't hate Al Roker, I dislike him though. I didn't like Al well before his WUWA show, he always rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.

I heard this yesterday morning.

Gooding - "Captain, Captain"

Captain Captain - Gooding

Its directly related to weather so I don't see the harm. When a governor orders evacuations for an impending storm and a mayor refuses to enforce it causing potentially life threatening situations to the residents in the area then thats a cause for concern. I'm glad they are mentioning this issue because the public needs to be aware of what happened and learn from it down the road.

Not a wise decision on the mayor's part. History tells us that politicians who responded poorly to life threatening weather situations in the past don't do very well at all once re-election time swings around. People don't forget what you did or didn't do.

I only watched a little bit of TWC coverage this morning, but Stephanie's "inside jokes" with Mike Bettes were, in my mind, completely uncalled for.  I understand she's probably running on little to no sleep, but she was acting like a teenager.  Before the top of the hour (9 AM), she was supposed to give more information on the storm and just said something (I don't even remember what) that both Mike and Maria gave stunned reactions to.  Heck, TWC even had to cut her off.

I like Stephanie, but not when she does things like this. :club:

Are you talking about when she said something about Maury and paternity tests? I didn't get it either. Before that Mike and Maria were talking about Jimmy Fallon doing his late night show w/o a studio audience. How the whole Maury and paternity test thing fit into that I don't know. I had the same look on my face as Maria and Mike did when she said that. Even Stephanie realized how awkward she was being.

MSNBC is using it too, not that it's a surprise or anything, just putting it out there.

Well now our ABC affiliate has jumped on the Superstorm Sandy name branding bandwagon now. :P Sandy continues to amaze me as we have extensive tree damage and power outages even down here. They are covering Sandy about as much as TWC is.

do u think the nhc will retire the name? i certainly say so it probably may be the only storm to be retired this year given so many other disappointing fishes this season

It's already being projected to cost 80 billion dollars in US damage (that's not including the damage costs in Cuba/Jamaica) so I would say it's very likely to be retired imo.

Never in my life have I seen the Stock Market close for anything other than a national or federal holiday. It will be closed today and possibly tomorrow.

I really hope the folks who were told to evacuate got the heck out of the way especially if they're in areas where they rode out Irene last year because this will be a lot WORSE. This ain't no Irene were screwin' around with! Irene is a treat compared to this nasty Halloween trick Sandy is going to unleash.

This song from the June 2012 playlist just played at 8:28pm ET. Ironically, I used this song in an emulation today.

June 2012 Overnight Song

"Rainy Day" by CC Gilmore. I'm watching TWC now it looks like they went to all instrumentals.

I heard a Steve Glotzer like song at :38 followed by "Montana Girl" by Gooding at :48

That's a CC Gilmore song? Hmm, I would have never guessed that.  :o

You probably recognize this concept, I originally made it in May this year and made some revisions. A radar as well as "The Week Ahead" will be in the next video I upload.

I really like the music they're using for the Hurricane Sandy LOT8s intros. It reminds me of the 2006 Storm Alert music.
