For those of you wondering when results will start filtering in - the earliest will be at 6 PM EST with Kentucky and Indiana tallying their votes first.

I always found the poll closing times like that to be so weird that it's so mixed up by states in the same region/time zone.

I actually beat my all-time best game in bowling of 112 by scoring 117 this evening.

That's great, but you didn't use imp (in my pants) in your statement.  :P

Tavores, your map is exactly the same as mine. However, Florida is getting really really close and there is still a chance Obama could win it. If Obama does win Florida, then Romney is finished, hands down.

At this point, I see no reason for Ohio to not go to Obama. Every single poll out of Ohio since Nov. 1 has favored the President and the latest had him leading with a margin of +5.

You're right, it still could swing in Obama's favor and frankly if it did, I personally don't think he needs Ohio to win, but I'm still thinking in the end it's going to go to Romney by a small margin of votes.

Also the Romney campaign is aware that Ohio may not go for them which is why they're trying to put Pennsylvania in play as an insurance policy for a possible Ohio loss. Unfortunately for Romney if history repeats itself it's not going to work. Bush Sr., Dole, G.W. Bush, and McCain campaigned within a few days before election day in PA and all lost PA to their democratic challenger/incumbent.

Lastly, women will surely be out in full force. They've been the ones with targets on their backs by both sides this entire campaign.

Tomorrow will be the first Presidential Election where I will be old enough to vote and I'm pretty excited about it.  :D I'm voting for President Obama/V.P Biden

I made up an electoral map on my prediction for the results tomorrow. My prediction is Obama will win 303 electoral votes and Romney will win 235 electoral votes.

Tossup or Leaning States to go to Obama
Ohio
Colorado (This one was hard for me to decide)
Virginia
New Hampshire
Wisconsin
Iowa

Tossup or Leaning States to go to Romney
North Carolina
Florida (This one was VERY hard for me to decide)

For those who know Chuck Todd, he's a political analyst with NBC and he said something yesterday that I thought was very interesting. The discussion was about how the Republicans have dominated the South and he said that he was surprised that Obama didn't campaign more in my home state of Georgia because if he did he may have been able to make Georgia a swing state also. :o I know the Black vote in early voting has exceeded 2008 levels here this year so it may not be outside of the realm of possibility that it could be closer here as well.

I didn't understand the rush to make it, they could have waited a few months after everything is accessed before going of and making a documentary about a storm that still is ongoing as far the aftermath assessment.

This is 2 days late, but I'm gonna post it anyway. This was originally two Halloween stories in one, but this one turned out to be so long it was able to be a stand alone episode.

Season Five Episode 83: Tales of Terror IV
Episode Code - S5832

Episode Description:
The Stoops spend Halloween in Farrah’s Tree house that turns out to be possessed by demons. In addition, the Devil (who is being played by The Stoop’s former neighbor Andrew Humperdinkle) seeks to execute a plan to destroy all mankind on Earth.

Just checked TV Guide.com, and Zap 2 It.com and The new schedule is gone for now.  Is that because of Sandy? However, Longform is still there, in the old time slots. Has anyone heard any thing??????

I could be wrong, but I got the notion that this new line-up wasn't going to start until early next year.  How far in the future are you looking?

The talk show format of shows they mentioned in the article from this thread were supposed to be on during the daytime hours weren't planned to begin until next year which is why when I posted the schedule Comcast had on their program guide there was only minor differences from the current schedule. Speaking of that, they have reverted back to the old schedule on their program guide for next week as well.

EDIT: They postponed the schedule change to November 12th (Monday) according to Comcast's program guide.

Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Sandy

Got power back. Gas stations are running out of gas and people are starting to get very desperate around here.

Glad to hear you have power again, from what I've heard about half of the 8+ million who lost power now has it restored since Monday. I feel terrible for the folks in Staten Island, I hope city officials and FEMA start working more aggressively and urgently as they can today and into the weekend to help the residents there recover from the aftermath. :(

On another note to Sandy, I think it's clear that going by damage estimates, Sandy should rank in the top 5, if not possibly #2, replacing Hurricane Ike or Andrew (when adding in inflation it would rank #2 at 43 Billion) as the Second Costliest Hurricane running behind Hurricane Katrina (2005).

As far as the deadliest hurricane ranking, Sandy will most likely come in the top 5 as well somewhere between Ike #3 (2008) and Hugo #4 (1989) as the current death toll stands at 94 and unfortunately could rise over the weekend.

Lastly I saw this on weather.com of comparisons between the big female powerhouses, Katrina, Irene, and Sandy.

Quote from: Jim Cantore on The Weather Channel, October 31, 2012
"Sandy was Jersey's Katrina"
This was a very bold statement for Jim Cantore to make... I'm not sure how I feel about this....
If we go by the perceived impact, I can see some reasoning behind this claim as people in New York and New Jersey haven't witnessed this kind of devastation in a long while.  However, if we go by the Meteorology and the big picture, there's absolutely no comparison here.  If Sandy was a major hurricane, then we would be on a more level playing field with this claim.

Sandy may not have been a Cat 3 or higher by title, but it certainly had the barometric pressure to make it a major hurricane and I think the damage does translate more to what a Cat 3 would do than a Cat 1 would do. That's just my opinion though.

Complete devistation here on LI. It's almost like Katrina here but a little less.
Long Island is bad but comparing it to Katrina is pushing it a bit. Very different scenarios here. It's certainly the worst flooding event to ever hit NYC.

Interestingly enough, Mike Bettes mentioned this morning that the damage up in Long Island did remind him of the damage on the MS Coast after Hurricane Katrina.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Should They Keep WUWAI Say NO!
« on: October 31, 2012, 09:49:09 AM »
No thoughts here on WUWA, but since the show has been on TWC for 3 years, that means it's doing well, and therefore it's there to stay and nothing can be done about it  If the show did poorly, it probably wouldn't be on the air anymore today. I am not saying this is either a good thing or a bad thing, I'm just a messenger. That's just how TV business works nowadays  :itsok:

I don't agree with this. I think Al is an exception to the rule. It's not like WUWA is the only thing to his name on TWC, he's helped produced a lot of the documentaries/reality programming on the network. I think that's enough reason to keep him around also regardless if the show is doing good or not.

Wow. My mom was watching TWC this afternoon and texted me about some "dumb blond on TWC." Then said she announced she was leaving. I thought for sure she was talking about Stephanie. Never would have guessed it was Heather.

I wouldn't consider Heather a "dumb blond."

Eh, she's kinda been "dumbing" down in her on air performance the past year or two if you ask me. Maybe that's why I didn't enjoy seeing her as much as I used to.

Regardless, I hate I missed her on air goodbye. :hmm:
