Mitt Romney has called President Obama to congradulate him on his second term win. Romney is conceding defeat.

Romney doesn't want to concede Ohio. <_<

fwiw, Virginia still gives President Obama a slim lead. Also Nevada has gone to Obama bringing him up to 281 electoral votes.

For good reason...Romney now has a 0.5% lead in Ohio. This may have been called too early.

Even if they take Ohio back, if Obama gets Colorado he still wins with 272 electoral votes.

EDIT: Speaking of Colorado, he just won it bringing him up to 290. I also predict Obama will narrowly win FL/VA.

Tammy Baldwin (D) made history tonight in Wisconsin becoming the first openly gay woman to serve in the Senate. She defeated Tommy Thompson (R) in the Senate race there.

EDIT: California, Washington, Hawaii, all go to Obama. Romney wins Idaho and North Carolina. Also Oregon is too early to call, but Obama is leading there.

Electoral Count at 11pm ET
Obama - 243
Romney - 203

Big big call - Scott Brown has been toppled from the Massachusetts Senate seat.

EDIT: In Indiana, Mourdock's comments about rape have come back to haunt him. The Democrat will take the Senate seat for Indiana.

I figured Warren would defeat Brown and that Murdock would be defeated because of those rape comments.

Also Obama has won Minnesota.

Obama has Pennsylvania after being too early to call for about an hour.

NOTE: Most of the Swing states still too close to call there are still VERY long lines of voters well after closing. Colorado running out of ballots and is rushing to get more.

Can anybody explain to me how Romney got SC when Obama is in the lead there? :dunno:

Exit polls show a clear majority for Romney.

NBC calls Arkansas for Romney. Romney 88, Obama 64.

Ah, ok thanks for explaining.

I noticed on ABC they went ahead and gave Obama NJ bringing him up to 78.

Well, Romney has 37 senate votes and Obama has 30. When do they announce the election results? I thought some states couldn't make it by 8 pm?

Some states are split by two time zones like Florida for example, the polls are closed now, but in the Panhandle area it doesn't close until 8pm because they're in the Central time zone instead of the Eastern time zone. The media can't call FL until it closes in the central time zone first.

Romney almost certainly just won Indiana and Kentucky.
I agree, but it's not a surprise to me IN would just be going back to red after going blue 4 years ago. KY was gonna be solid red anyway.

Not picking on NH, but when I saw the current returns so far I kinda chuckled at the very small numbers where Obama has 28 and Romney has 14 compared to KY/IN's numbers. :P

EDIT: Virginia too close to call
Georgia too early to call  :o

Romney has KY/IN/SC
Obama has Vermont

I voted right before 8 this morning and the line wasn't too long, I guess part of that is because they moved the polling center from my old elementary school to a church since they permanently closed down that school this year. :(  Overall, it only took me 30 minutes.
