Golf Couse Pick Of The Week just aired at 1:43pm EDT with Golf Channel's Holly Sonders

I knew this was coming...
I knew that they were going to feature the Golf Channel on TWC. Seriously, Comcast and NBC both ruined TWC!
Now, I know that it is still important for golfers to check the weather conditions, its just that I hate corprate takeovers.   (nice photo at least)

Yes my Weatherstar XL Is GONE =/ and no i don't know its star ID yet.
I'm sorry to hear that. Our cable system replaced our XL shortly after when the IntelliStar first came out in March 2004. I can't remeber what the ID was from our XL.

Thats neat! I recognize some of those STARs too! It even lists Peoria IL (which is where you live)

The photo from Morton, IL may be the same IntelliStar from my area's Comcast headend. It's #22878 (I still remember the ID number). I beleve the Comcast headend in Morton is part of the same cable system as the one here in my town, so I think they even get the same channel line-up.

BTW: here's another picture I've found on the same website, this one features former TWC OCM Bruce Edwards (Kalinowski) at WOIO-TV. This was from September 2001.

I came across this website thats mostly about DXing over-the-air television signals and found this interesting section that features a collection of TWC and TWN local forecast pictures. Some of these photos are however messed up or just shot in front of the TV screen and were captured between 1993-2009.

Anyways, these are not my photos, but I hope you'll still enjoy these pictures.

I still would rather see live weather coverage and forecasts. I always still find it to be more entertaining than the long-form shows.

I still think TWC needs to go back to its roots. At least we have AccuWeather in our area too. The only problem with our local AccuWeather station here is that we can only get it on over-the-air broadcast. We can't get it on DirecTV.   I even wish we had WeatherNation and Weatherscan in our area too.

TCA: Weather Channel Greenlights 'Coast Guard Alaska'
Produced by Al Roker Entertainment; will premiere Nov. 9
By Tim Baysinger -- Broadcasting & Cable, 7/27/2011 2:46:43 PM

The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) announced Wednesday that it has greenlit the new series Coast Guard Alaska (wt).

Produced by Al Roker Entertainment, the series will follow a team of coast guard swimmers who are stationed in Kodiak, Alaska.

"Coast Guard Alaska has all the elements we're looking for in original programming - great storytelling, action and adventure, and most importantly, how the weather affects someone's work and lifestyle," said Bob Walker, EVP/GM, networks and content, The Weather Channel. "This series fits in perfectly with the strategy we've developed for The Weather Channel's long-form content across all platforms."

Roker commented: "We just celebrated the second year of Wake Up with Al on The Weather Channel, so this was my anniversary gift to the network. In all seriousness, Coast Guard Alaska is a compelling series and one we feel will captivate The Weather Channel audience."

Coast Guard Alaska is expected to premiere Wednesday, November 9, at 9 p.m.

Seriously, what does this have to do with weather? I hate to bother, but it looks like Al Roker is starting to produce his own production shows. What's your reaction?
