TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Is cable TV going downhill?
« on: November 12, 2012, 09:40:27 PM »
Even Boomerang is airing Pokemon Diamond & Pearl (that's still too recent).  :wall:   Plus, both Cartoon Network and Boomerang airs Pokemon only once a day and airs the rest of their programing with live action garbage.
Before you know it, I could imagine exclusive live coverage of the Superbowl on The Weather Channel.  :wow:

Comcast in Peoria, IL:

9 - WGN America (not the local Chicago CW affiliate)
1- Xfinity On Demand
89 - nothing

If they loose more and more viewers, its possable that some cable and satellite providers (except COMCA$T) would likely drop TWC for good and replace it with a rival weather station like WeatherNation or AccuWeather. Look what happened to G4 and DirecTV, its aready been a year and a half since when DirecTV droped G4 and it appears to be permanent. It looks like TWC is going down the G4 route.

General Discussion / Re: Other TV you watch besides TWC
« on: July 23, 2012, 05:18:44 PM »
I don't even watch TWC that much anymore like I used too because NBCU/Comcast ruined a great network.

Anyways, what I like to watch are...
MSNBC: mostly for the news (even sometimes, the liberal shows  ), and documentries on the weekends
CNBC: mostly for the bueness news and specials, my dad likes to watch Mad Money every night.
Cartoon Network/Adult Swim: Regular Show, classic Looney Tunes, Looney Tunes Show, classic Pokemon (before season 9), Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken, Childern's Hospital
Boomerang: classic Pokémon (before season 9), Dexter's Labratory
TBS: Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, more Family Guy, more American Dad, Friends
Comedy Central: The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Tosh.0, Futurama
ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNews: mostly to catch up on what's going on with either MLB/NFL/NHL/NBA and sometimes for the live games
MLB Network: same as ESPN
NFL Network: same as ESPN
NHL Network: same as ESPN as well.
FS Midwest: St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey coverage.

Sometimes I would either watch one of the DirecTV SonicTap music channels or watch some old Prevue Guide/classic TWC videos on YouTube whenever when there's nothing good on.

This quote sums up the direction TWC is going,
From a recent press release http://press.weather.com/press_detail.asp?id=401
"People come to The Weather Channel for more than their local forecast - they come to us to be entertained and inspired, and for help planning their lives", said Ann Brown, senior vice president, client solutions for The Weather Channel companies.

When they ment by saying "they come to us to be entertained and inspired", that's not what I had in mind. I used to watch TWC all the time mainly for the live weather coverage and maps, not long-form and documentries. I hope they don't discontinue their LOT8s, or else there could be alot of negitive reaction in the cable industry. I can't beleve I'm saying this, but Dish should of kept The Weather Cast on the air and maybe DirecTV and possibly most other major cable companies (except Comcast) would of followed suit.

TWC is going to show the "Super Preview of The Amazing Spider Man" Sometime tonight according to a Networks of NBC promo.
Well that makes sense, because Spider Man has everything to do with weather.  Wait..  Ugh.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised at this point.
