Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Re: 1998 and 1999 playlists

TWC used to have the complete playlists on its website.

I'll see if I can find them.

Aside from the song mentioned in the first post, "Passage" by Chick Corea was used in 1989, along with the 1990 listing already noted.

I don't see "Delevans" by Jeff Lorber noted on the BTF page, although I guess it isn't a playlist per se, as you have videos for each song.

I may find a few others.

I've found several LF videos on YouTube featuring songs not listed here on either the "Official" or "Other" playlist.

For example, "Beverly Hills" by Guitar Workshop in LA is not on either list. It was featured in 1989.

If you want, I can post a list of the songs.  Just thought it would make the song listing more accurate.

Thanks.

Correct. It never aired on TWC. It was mainly created for emergency management applications and government access cable viewing.

If anyone finds a copy on Ebay, it would be a great find.

In 1990, the Red Cross and TWC joined forces to create a weather awareness video called "Out of Harm's Way."

The video is a treasure trove of TWC technology and graphics from 1989-90. Marshall Seese hosted the video.  There were segments such as "Flash Floods" and "Tornadoes" that featured maps of where these events commonly occur and then delved into what to do.  It had very cool music and animations.  Some of these animations were used in other TWC promos, such as the 1993 severe weather promo.

I have been attempting to find it.  There is a copy in the NJ state library, apparently.  I just thought I would post this in case anyone stumbles upon it.  It would air on a local public access station in my area in the 90's.  I think it would be an excellent find!

TWC debuted new maps today. I guess that is significant to include on the timeline.

Also, I believe February 2, 1998 should be added because that is when TWC started to debut new maps and graphics and I think when the "Weather Center" name debuted.
