Since you say the metro maps are more regional, will there be one IS2 for every SD STAR there is, or will a single IS2 serve an entire metro area?That will be determined by the cable companies. But it's safe to say there will be fewer HD STARs for an area where there are several SD STARs.
Martin, are those actual screenshots, or something you created? If they are actual shots, I have a couple of issues:Good point. I'll have to bring that to their attention.
1.) I don't mind that the national current conditions bar on the left is still shown, but, since the radar on the bottom left corner is hidden by the local LDL, the "radar" label should be either removed or repositioned on the national feed so that it's no longer indicating a radar that's hidden to those now seeing a local LDL.
2.) Why is the Intellistar HD using the pre-2010 weather icons?The set was designed specifically for HD. Thats why it looked so crappy on the SD IntelliStar. The IntelliStar 2 will use these icons and the network will continue to use the simplified version. That's just how it is.
3.) The banner underneath the city name is a little confusing. For example, "The Week Ahead" shows current conditions, "Tomorrow" shows the forecast for the upcoming week, etc. It's not a problem to show what's coming next, but that should be clearly differentiated from what's currently being shown.Those were mock images. A video of the real thing in action is coming soon.
4.) On the current conditions display, the data covers up the labels ("visibility," for example).
5.) On the week ahead display, the day labels and the colored banners underneath them don't quite match, and the result looks very sloppy.
6.) Where's the clock on the small LDL?You will see in the video...

NYC is not a beta location. That alpha STAR will eventually be removed and replaced with an actual IntelliStar 2.I'm not sure. Millville, and Glassboro's Comcast systems will also introduce TWC HD.TWC HD will be coming to the Comcast headend in Pleasantville, NJ on Tuesday. Hopefully, we'll be getting a chance to see this in the not too far future!Does this also apply to Comcast of Cherry Hill? I've been waiting foR TWCHD for awhile.
Also, I hope I am not drifting off topic (If so, please move this post mods) but what will happen the current HD STAR beta used in New York City's Cablevision headends? Will they also get a new HD star system put in place?
