That map looks like an error to me. Doubt they're going back to topographic maps at this point.

Confirmed via Twitter this morning

@freddyflaxman: @daveclark @Gt1racer @gdlott Thanks for the tip, Alex! We sent a i2jr SD STAR to Mattoon. The new gfx will be released to it on June 10.
Take it for what its worth, but Dave Clark told me via Twitter that I would have the IS2 by now on Verizon, and that was months ago. Yet to still have it.

I can confirm I've independently verified this through a TWC employee.
You can confirm what? That it's true or not true? If it's true, who's paying for it and is there a press release? Seems like pretty big news.
That it is true. No press release, as the general public doesn't know nor really would care. There isn't a significant number of legacy units still floating around out there. I'm not sure who exactly is footing the bill. I'll try and find out.

Seems a little hard to believe. I mean, they're going to replace ALL legacy STARs in less than a month!? And who's paying for the upgrades? I doubt TWC has the money to do so, and I know that many cable companies don't have the money to upgrade. And where's the press release?

I briefly had on TWC this morning during AMHQ and I heard Maria mention the 7 day was coming up next.

i was able to record the opener before my tuner crashed

AM:HQ with Sam Champion lHDl Opener

They used a different opener during the 8am hour which feature each personality individually. Much, much better.

Accuweather is the only competition TWC needs to be worried about as far as I see it...

And WeatherNation as well. I see those two as the big competitors to TWC.
I disagree. I've watched a bit of WeatherNation. Looks like a joke to me.

You don't need a degree to be a weather person. Hell, you don't even actually need a teaching degree to be a teacher in most states. No big deal.

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Comcast to buy Time Warner Cable

My problem with Comcast buying TWC is when Comcast bought Adelphia, they promised great service blah blah blah. Here we are years and years later, and my Pap still doesn't have the same "okay" service that I had with Comcast before we switched to Verizon. He still doesn't have the new guide that long-time Comcast customers have, or even access to all the same channels. Seems like they only really care about their long-time service areas.

Intellistar Jr., huh?

Do you know how this compares, tech-wise, to the IS1 and IS2?  It's obviously different in that it has Cantore's Vocal Local, but also the specs have to be closer to the IS2, right?

And, if we have an IS already, like with Fios, will they go to the ISJr.?

Unfortunately, I don't have any technical specs, and I think they'll be hard to come by. As for FiOS, I previously reported that TWC's President said Verizon will be getting the IntelliStar 2 "in three months." I've been told that three months is pushing it, and it'll likely take longer, but I have confirmed Verizon is indeed currently in the testing phase with IntelliStar 2's.

Do you know how long TWC has been developing/manufacturing these? Had to have been well before the WATT campaign started.

I have no information on that at this time. I can say that replacement of the legacy STARs has been in the works for a while now though.

I'd much rather have this over the current IntelliStar. This looks like a total step up in my eyes... :whistling:

So IntelliStar Jr? Is that the official name or what? I'd like to see a press release or some form of documentation on this machine. I'm interested.

IntelliStar 2 Jr. is actually the official name. And I agree, I think I'd rather have this than the original IntelliStar.

This is the IntelliStar Jr. It is replacing all legacy units. It will get the updated graphics at some point.

There is no audio tone any more, but they do crawl still. They are all red now too. No yellow/orange.
