Because it's all they got to go on. Healthcare is being rejected by the public, unemployment is at 9.6% and the list goes on.
Just gonna throw this out there... unemployment may be at 9.6%, but the Obama administration created more jobs last year than Bush did in his 8 year term.

Rude and racist comments won't be tolerated. I see something like that again and action will most certainly be taken.

It's not that they are avoiding Comcast, its just a compatibility issues. Sorry, but I can't really get into it.

I can't believe the Bears didn't win. :( :cry3:
Me either, but the Packers are my second favorite team. So this should be a good game. Congrats to Tyler and other Steelers fans.
Gonna be a good Superbowl!

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: January 22, 2011, 03:19:41 PM »
So here's the question of the day... I haven't heard the narration phrase "Snowfall rates around one inch" for the wording phrase "Snowfall around one inch" on any Intellistar in years. The exception would be a video that user ajatwister recently uploaded.
So why is it that some Intellistars seem to have the phrase, but most don't?
We get the phrase "Snowfall rates around one inch" all the time. All Intellistars have the same phrases, it's just how the forecast is written by TWC.

And then I got to thinking about another phrase. My aunt and uncle live in San Clemente, CA (my mom just went to visit them two weeks ago)... and the phrase "Stronger winds in and below canyons and passes" appears on their text forecast a lot.
I recorded an LF with a camera I had when I went there in November 2007... but I lost it when my desktop was reformatted in February 2008. So does anyone know if the Intellistar has that phrase?
Yes.

The HD STAR rollout is happening on a headend by headend basis, and not related to the cable company itself.

Why would any mid atlantic school not build in snow days? News flash, it snows here!
I think it had to do with budget cuts or something. Not entirely sure why though. Or maybe just tighter NJ education standards. <_<
Tighter standards are never bad, but there's no reason a district can't make MLK day or President's day a snow make up day. Penn Hills regularly builds in 6 to 8 days (depending on the school year, they can include MLK Day, President's Day, Professional days, days from Spring break, and Kennywood day). They often use close to all of them.

I hope it's not like what Al uses during WUWA, or what WNBC in New York uses for weather.

Ugh. The years have gotten the best of him. He looks like shit.
More like he doesn't have to maintain his image to be on TV.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Re: Updates and link
« on: January 14, 2011, 11:50:40 PM »
Definetely a good idea! An even better thing to do (if this is possible) is add tabs that say "TWC Today Home" and "TWC Classics Home". So, for example, the tabs would be something like this:

TWC Today Home     TWC Classics Home     Forum Home     Help     Board Guidelines     Search     Profile     My Messages     etc.....
I would have to learn how to do "map" and "area" links to link the banner image. As for home links to the sites in the menu bar, in order for it to fit, I would have to scrap two or three other links in it, otherwise the wrapping to the next line is very awkward for non-administrators. I will look in to both of these in my free time this upcoming week.

I would suggest axing Help and Calendar. We don't really use the calendar and I'm pretty sure the forum is self explainable.

What a difference a few miles makes with lake effect snow. My house in Penn Hills has over a foot of snow now, but at my Aunt's house only has about 6 inches, and they are about 4 miles apart.

quite honestly, I see it failing on the verizon network. we'll have to see how this works, but i don't think it'll roll over too well.

every person I know who has had verizon hated it, and have switched to AT&T not just for the iphone, but for better coverage in texas.

verizon has horrible coverage in texas, apparently.
Total opposite up here. AT&T sucks and the majority of people have VZ.
