TWC Fan Art / Re: Tyler's HD Concepts

Been working on a new design recently. Testing the animation out on a few products, so I decided to upload it. Note that this isn't the final order of the products (I still have to finish the rest).

What do you guys think of the logo? I'm still working on a better mobile version...

I noticed they have changed the wording on the city ID screen that appears at :00/:15/:30/:45. It used to say "Weatherscan is only available on [insert cable provider name here]." It now says "Weatherscan is brought to you by The Weather Channel and [insert cable provider name here]."

They also showed "Millions of people like this. with a TWC logo on the right side"

Showing the Facebook like icon throughout the promo.

This might seem like a dumb question. How are the graphics advanced when the met doesn't have a remote in their hand? Weather producer?
Correct, one of the producers does it.

I'd like to know what qualifies Brian Norcorss to have the title "Storm Specialist."
IMO, that title should only apply to those who have doctorate degrees, and Norcross isn't one of them.
I disagree because thats like saying on local stations fire a weathercaster because they dont have a meteorology degree and or a medical reporter because they dont have an MD..
But Norcross does have a degree in meteorology. He does not however have any severe weather or hurricane realted degree. Therefore he isn't a "specialist."

I agree. I was certainly impressed with the coverage tonight, and the past few nights. Dr. Forbes has been nothing less than outstanding in his explanations and analysis of the radar images. Obviously he and Cantore make a great pairing, but as me mentioned above, Carl Parker and Forbes worked very well tonight. Forbes+Cantore+Parker paired together would be really nice to see in the future.

New weekly planner graphics are UGLY. And theres no need to have cities with icons on them - they block half of the important information! Didn't they learn that when they originally launched HD?

What is the current progress of the Intellistar 2 with Comcast Headends?
No progress at all..

GT1racer, it seems to me that all of your clips are incredibly saturated, and quite dark. Are you sure your monitor's all right? No offense, but it looks kinda weird....

That's as HQ as you can get, sorry it doesn't appeal to you.
While I don't really understand why he needs such HQ vids, I respectfully disagree in that I would not consider your videos high quality. There are definitely color issues (whether on purpose or not).

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Segments
« on: April 22, 2011, 06:01:00 PM »
The Ocala, FL Cox feed uses a Wxscan from Gainesville, and to my surprise, it had packages dedicated to Ocala/Gainesville for Spanish  they werent narrated in any way though, and even the radar has spanish on it and it is seperate from the other products. (ie GAINESVILLE < OCALA < GAINESVILLE ESPAŅOL < OCALA ESPAŅOL < GOLF < AIRPORT)
The Spanish segment is pretty rare. Though it makes sense to have it in FL.

Will the new graphics roll out  on the local forecasts too?
No. There really aren't new graphics, just a new radar system.
