Local Forecast / Re: Fios IntelliSTAR IDs that don't begin with 26 or 27

All Verizon headends use IntelliStars, Victor.

My FiOS ID here is 27542. I suppose it's possible for a Verizon headend to get a lower ID number, I mean, they do reuse units. So, if another cable headend sent one back to TWC with an ID starting with, say 24***, then Verizon may very well end up with it.

The problem is, the data comes from a third-party vendor, they [TWC] have no way of editing it. Traffic Pulse's response to this was - they have to keep it separate (EB & WB or NB & SB) as that's how their platform is built.

Earlier, our STAR duplicated a traffic report:

Quote
Incident, Hwy-11 Gilcrease Exwy WB

[MEDIUM IMPACT] - at Memorial Dr - earlier accident is clear

Incident, Hwy-11 Gilcrease Exwy EB

[MEDIUM IMPACT] - at Memorial Dr - earlier accident is clear

That's because one report is for WB, one for EB.

IIRC, Marshall and Heather were in N.O., and they had someone back at the studio do the maps. Not positive though.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how the N.O. broadcast worked.

Al is correct, it was a mistake on TWC's part. Has nothing to do with the STAR itself.

Wow, they actually did that? I didn't watch that much during that year. :(

Did they have key walls, or did they just talk while showing the maps on the screen?
I don't remember if they had the key walls or not, but I do remember the Dennis Smith was left behind in the studios to do his travel segment.

I find it odd that the Sam's Club I frequent at Pittsburgh Mills is still sporting the older logo on the front of it (the green, blue, orange one). According to Wikipedia, the current one's been in place since 2006. All of the logos in-store though have been changed. Here's the newer logo I'm referring to:

As for the other store closest to me, in Monroeville, I haven't a clue if the logo has changed there yet. I haven't shopped at that store since the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills location opened in 2005, IIRC.

The new logo is supposed to roll-out nationwide by years end. As of last week, the two Walmarts closest to me have not changed anything (except the plastic bags).

Here's their latest update for New York City customers. I find it interesting that this coincides with Cablevision adding 15 HD channels this week.
I don't find it interesting at all. FiOS' channels were planned for NYC long before Cablevision, to my knowledge.

I didn't get a cell phone until earlier this year (around 17th birthday). My parents refused to pay for it (which is a good parental decision, IMO), so after I got a job, I got one myself, and pay the bill myself. I think any parent paying their child's cell phone bill should be slapped in the face (no offense to anyone's parent). You're not teaching them to be responsible.

Can someone with access to ESPNews HD please capture a few screen shots, if possible? Thanks!

Here's a screen shot (sorry for horrible quality - from my phone):

Maybe they just want you to know that those roads are really important. :P
Then they're highlighting the wrong roads. I-376 is most certainly the most important road on that map. :P

Mike, I saw that too. It seemed to be an error. I have a pic that I'll upload later on...
