45°F Sunny

Highs are likely to reach the mid 60s for this weekend, so it looks like the January thaw is here.
It is 49° and clear right now, and I certainly agree...the shore is going to hit 60 on Sunday. Something we usually don't see again until late April!

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Is cable TV going downhill?

It would be nice if DISH offered a la carte packaging, but you can currently only do that for international programming. There are several channels (Nat Geo, Boomerage, Nicktoons, Science Channel) that I would love to purchase but it's not worth paying considerably more for more channels that I could quite frankly care less about.

The meteorology majors in my school don't require Computer Science, even though I have limited C++ knowledge. How useful is that class for Meteorology?
Just the ability to read and learn code and be able to utilize it in programming is important in Meteorology.  A computer science class was required for my degree, but I had a choice between C++ and FORTRAN.  The ability to do programming is actually way more important than people think, especially when you consider all the computers used in weather.
Ah, makes a lot of sense.

AFAIK, only the Towers version of Storm Stories is available for syndication. The syndication for SS began in 2008, before the rebirth of SS in 2009 by Peacock Productions.
That's correct. They show it on WFMZ every morning and the episodes I've noticed only go up to 2008. Earlier on WPVi they were showing the episode that was talking about the President's Day 2008 Outbreak.

I noticed today has been officially 10 years since Storm Stories debuted. First episodes came out on 1/6/03. They are showing an episode right now on WPVI of all stations :o

Does anyone know if Verizon FiOS has any plans to add the IS2?

Searching on Verizon's Idea Exchange forum Verizon the only comment I could find from Verizon was,
Joe_Ambeault Employee on 05-16-2011 03:59 AM  "On this list, but probably not for this year."

Now it's 2013 if I'm correct no Verizion FiOS system has the IS2.
Doubt it. My uncle had Fios for a while (and was looking forward to the IS2 himself). Went back to Cablevision in a heartbeat. I assume you live in New York City..why don't you switch to Cablevision instead if you want to see the IS2? Cable and internet (optimum online) together is actually cheaper than Fios.

miss swan at the dmv

God forbid you meet this woman in real life.  :rofl2:

LOL, you may be surprised how many real customers act like this in real life. And people wonder why customer service is the worst occupation to be in.
