General Discussion / Re: Tuner skips while recording
« on: June 22, 2010, 06:52:20 PM »
I use an ATI tuner on my XP desktop, which has been flawless for me up until today. Whenever I record, the tuner starts skipping and my videos turn out horrible. I've tried everything to help solve this, such as quitting processes that may use up CPU and system usages, and restarting/shutting down my computer several times and nothing is working. Any ideas?
Check the power supply? Also it could be an issue with the hard drive space that is required to save your videos in. My videos will ocassionally skip because of the low memory/hard drive space

Actually, there is two. Chillaxin' is the other one.
That's more of a chill/ambient song to me rather than jazz.
I agree. Sounds more like R&B/Funk in a way. Wish they would play some new jazz song in the primetime slot besides Boney James or reuses from the past.

Yeah, Chillaxin' is more of an R&B-sounding chill song. TWC is completely allergic to playing smooth jazz in the primetime.  Touch is a smooth jazz classic by John Klemmer. Boney James did not do it much justice IMO.  It does not have the soul, the emotion, and sensuality of the orginal. TWC should play the original Touch in primetime or overnight.
That is because primetime is devoted to rock. I can't see them continuing with the reuses for each primetime and morning slot in the playlist. Every playlist since the January one has had 3 or more repeats in the primetime list, and quite frankly going back to all jazz can help justify this.

Indeed it is summer, my radar agrees! :D
Yeah, looks like Tampa has been bombarded all evening. Saw a Heavy Thunderstorm report on the HD LF for Tampa earlier.

Speaking of the HD LF, does anyone know if it's possible to subscribe to Dish or DirecTV and only pay for the HD channels? I'm starting to think I may want to do that once the [HD] STAR rolls out, so I can still catch narrationless clips of songs. I would have to pay for it myself, of course.
Don't you have the HD channels already on your Comcast lineup? If you do, then I don't see a need to subscribe to another provider and please DO NOT subscribe to satellite if you do not have any wish to. It'll be a utter waste when the storms roll in and knock the signal out or if you have a lot of trees in your neighborhood, blocking the signal.

Oh, I wasn't complaining about the clock. I have the Intellistar, so I couldn't care less about the satellite LDL. I have half a dozen clocks in my room anyways.
Don't forget that watch on your left wrist too. :P
Off topic, but how did you know that? :P
The array of hidden cameras in your room. Good luck finding them all ;)
uhoh you better watch out Aaron, everyone's after ya.. :bleh:

General Discussion / Re: Commercials You Loathe
« on: June 21, 2010, 05:07:30 PM »
Oh gosh, I haven't seen those in years now. One ad that is really irritating to me is the ad for Al Roker... "For years, his name has been synonymous with weather"... "he's a trusted friend who tells it like it is". Lies, lies lies!
Surprisingly, a lot more people than I thought hate Al as well. A lot of the teachers in my school don't like him..

Less active. They always say South Jersey will get hit by strong thunderstorms, but over half of the times we don't even get a raindrop.

Bookit.com <_<
UGH! I hear ya on that one.  Unfortunately that tune gets stuck in my head all of the time.  Don't ya hate it when something is annoying and gets stuck in your head?
I'm totally with you there. That's why I just mute the TV when any ad is on which I was told to stay tuned to watch :P
Yup very. A classic example is the Head on ad. xD
